We are calling for Associate Energy Market Analyst (Data) to work with our team that develops simulation ready datasets in Pune location. \nKey Accountabilities and Duties\nAccountabilities\nDevelopment and maintenance of Global (North America/Europe/APAC regions) Power Market models/dataset using PLEXOS/Aurora tools\nAsist in market research, model updates, result analysis, model benchmarking etc. \nVisualize and analyze production cost market model results using Power BI, Excel. \nDay to day duties:\nWork in a team of energy data analysts. \nWork on projects to deliver standalone dataset and portions of dataset using fundamental data along with PLEXOS and Aurora power market models\nAnalyzing power markets, undertaking research, analyzing and manipulating data and processing data for input into power market models\nBenchmarking etc. end-to-end process of creation and upgrading of production cost models\nMaintaining large databases of energy related data. Data sources include data-providers, industry publications, regulatory agencies and web research.\nRunning PLEXOS and/or Aurora and interpreting output model results and energy balances\nComparing models and reviewing preliminary forecast output results for inconsistencies to ensure deliveries meet product specification\nProblem solving and interpretation of market models and ability to detect errors and omissions\nTroubleshoot market models and intermediate work products for errors, omissions, and improvements.\nFoundation Skills: \nExperience with energy market modelling\nHigh level of numeracy, computer, and web literacy.\nBasic understanding of energy economics for power market fundamentals and economic concepts of power markets. \nKnowledge of production cost modelling software’s like PLEXOS (preferred), Aurora or Pro-mod, or similar\nGood Knowledge of Power Plant/Natural Gas Economics, Power Systems, Gas supply chain, Operation research/Optimization techniques, statistics, and Energy (Power &/ Gas) Markets/Industry\nKnowledge and experience with transmission planning and nodal market modeling including generator mapping, assessing N-x contingencies, understanding and troubleshooting nodal model infeasibilities and other planning related power flow analysis. \nDemonstrated ability to work autonomously and see projects/assignments through from start to finish.\nSelf-starter, organized, persistent, goal driven, has a can-do attitude, takes challenges as opportunities to perform and add value\nDiligent, systematic, and pays attention to detail to ensure work accuracy and quality\nPunctual, Professional work and phone etiquette. \nExperience:\n0-2 years of experience with Energy Modeling and Power Market Analysis. \nKnowledge of or experience working in several North American, European or Asian power markets. \nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to research and learn new techniques. \nExperience in creating and analyzing energy data sets for power models. \nExperience working at a market operator, project developer, or at a utility in planning or commercial operations would be an asset. \nKnowledge of one or more energy economic modeling tools: PLEXOS, Aurora, PROMOD, PSO, Market Analytics and/or PROSYM. \nStrong organizational skills, familiarity with Agile/Sprint Best Practices. \nExpert skills using Excel, Power BI and similar tools. \nQualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Transmission preferred), or Power Systems.\nEnergy Exemplar is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
