In this role, you will collaborate with project managers, construction managers, customers, outside vendors, AHJ and consultants. As we rapidly grow and deliver on more contracts worldwide, you will help document and build scalable processes, technology, and products. Energy vault operates as both an independent power producer (IPP) and an integrator for customer projects.\nWe are targeting a Senior Project Engineer, but for a great candidate with more experience, we are open to a Lead Project Engineer or a Principal Project Engineer.\nYour Mission:\nBe responsible for project execution, which requires thorough understanding of scope, schedule, stakeholders and keeping all parties in sync.\nIdentify gaps in scope & responsibility and work with stakeholders to address them to ensure project success. This will require a comprehensive understanding of the engineering, procurement, construction, and permitting process.\nApply engineering principles and consult subject matter experts, as needed, to identify issues & drive solutions on projects.\nSpecify equipment for projects as required, including Transformers, Switchgear, protection solutions, etc.\nInterface with internal (project managers, product engineers, sales team) and external stakeholders (utilities, AHJs, contractors, end customers) to ensure consistent communication.\nReview project design documents including single line drawings, communication diagrams, layouts, equipment test reports, etc.\nPlan and lead BESS project commissioning.\nProvide constructive feedback to improve internal processes and product.\nYour Background:\nCandidate should be fluent in Japanese and English\nCandidate should have current work rights in Japan.\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering (electrical or power system engineering) or equivalent experience\n10+ years of experience of leading project design, preferably in the building of large power stations or PV or other utility-scale power projects\n5+ years of BESS project experience, preferred\n3+ years of experience working on EPC projects\nKnowledge of relevant electrical standards for BESS projects in Japan\nPE certification or equivalent, preferred\nFamiliarity in permitting processes with local authorities\nProficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)\nWillingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 30%\nComfortable in
