With sales and service locations throughout the world, and over 100 years of battery experience, EnerSys is the power/full solution for stored DC power products.\nWhat We’re Offering\nPaid holidays per year, plus sick time and vacation time\nFull benefit plan including, extended medical, vision and dental\nLife Insurance, long term disability and a salary continuance plan\nTuition reimbursement plan\n6% RRSP employer matching program\nCompensation Range: 68,100-95,000\nCompensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.\nThis is a current vacant position.\nJob Purpose\nReporting to the Senior EHS & Facilities Manager, the role supports day-to-day environmental, health, safety, and facilities programs to ensure compliance, maintain safe operations, and promote a positive safety culture. This role is more hands-on and execution-focused, providing guidance to employees and contractors while escalating more complex issues to the Senior Manager.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nAssist in implementing and maintaining EHS policies, procedures, and programs.\nConduct regular safety inspections and facility walkthroughs to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.\nSupport Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) and EOS-aligned EHS programs to promote continuous improvement in workplace safety.\nCoordinate and document safety training sessions for employees and contractors.\nServe as first point of contact for minor incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; support investigations and escalate findings.\nMaintain accurate EHS records and assist with regulatory documentation.\nSupport the JOSH and YOSHI committees by scheduling meetings, preparing minutes, and following up on action items.\nMonitor and assist with emergency response plans, first aid resources, and evacuation drills.\nOversee day-to-day maintenance and facilities tasks, including contractor coordination, minor repairs, and office/lab floor support.\nIdentify and recommend opportunities for energy efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable practices.\nProvide guidance to managers and employees on safe work practices and job hazard analysis (JHA).\nQualifications\nCredentials & Experience:\nDiploma or certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field (A degree would be an asset)\n3-5 years of experience in EHS, safety coordination, or facilities support, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nFamiliarity with WorkSafeBC regulations and ISO standards (ISO 14001, ISO 9001) an asset.\nStrong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.\nGood communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to coach and influence at the shop-floor level.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with facility management systems is an asset.\nPreferred Attributes:\nHands-on, approachable, and team oriented.\nStrong attention to detail and follow-through.\nPassion for workplace safety and environmental stewardship.\nWillingness to learn and grow within the EHS & Facilities function.\nGeneral Job Requirements\nGeneric\nEnerSys is committed to employment equity and fostering a workplace that respects and values diversity, inclusion, and dignity for all.\nWe provide equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants, and strictly prohibit discrimination or harassment of any kind based on race, colour, religion, age, sex, national or ethnic origin, citizenship, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital or family status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable Canadian and provincial laws\".\nWe encourage applications from members of equity-deserving groups, including women, Indigenous Peoples, racialized persons, persons with disabilities, and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.\nEmployment Equity / Diversity / Inclusion / Accessibility\nWe use artificial intelligence to screen, assess and select applicants for open positions, including for the purposes of reviewing and ranking application materials and scoring answers to application questions.
