Through innovative technology and ongoing training, we invest in our employees’ skills and career development.\nAt PPS, we don’t just build batteries - we power systems and devices that protect not only individual citizens but communities across the world.\nIf you’re excited about working in an innovative, fast-paced, high-tech environment, where your contributions make a real impact, we’d love to hear from you!\nLearn More About PPS\nJob Purpose\nThis position exists to assist the EHS Manager in monitoring the facility and employees to ensure safe, healthy, and regulatory compliant working conditions.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nJob Summary:\nThe Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Technician supports the EHS Manager in monitoring facility operations and employee activities to help ensure a safe, healthy, and regulatory-compliant work environment.\nQualifications\nRequired Education and Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nMaintain compliance and organization of the hazardous waste storage area, including hazardous waste inspections, universal waste management, and satellite accumulation areas.\nCollect, label, consolidate, and process hazardous waste in accordance with EPA, state, and company requirements.\nCollect stormwater samples and assist with environmental monitoring activities.\nRespond to and assist with chemical spill response and cleanup activities; maintain spill response equipment and environmental emergency supplies.\nConduct routine Environmental Health and Safety inspections, including ladders, exit lights, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, emergency equipment, hand tools, welding and brazing areas, and machine guarding.\nIdentify and report unsafe conditions and EHS concerns to the EHS Manager.\nAssist with contractor safety oversight and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.\nOperate and perform routine maintenance on deionized (DI) and reverse osmosis (RO) water systems.\nComplete assigned preventive maintenance tasks.\nAssist the Maintenance Department with facility improvement projects.\nServe as backup support for janitorial duties as needed.\nSupport EHS training activities as assigned.\nMaintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and environmental records.\nPerform other duties as assigned to support business operations.\nPreferred Education and Qualifications:\nExperience operating forklifts or other powered material handling equipment.\nBasic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and computerized preventive maintenance software.\nBasic understanding of algebra, scientific units of measure, measurement conversions, and calibration techniques.\nBasic analytical, mechanical, and electrical aptitude.\nKnowledge of basic chemistry and environmental regulations.\nExperience working in a manufacturing, industrial, maintenance, or Environmental Health and Safety environment.\nExperience with hazardous waste management, environmental compliance, or preventive maintenance programs.\nAbility to obtain the following certifications:\nDOT Hazardous Materials Certification\nHazardous Waste Certification\nPowered Industrial Truck (Forklift) Certification\nCore Competencies:\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.\nCommitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.\nEffective verbal and written communication skills.\nTechnical writing and documentation abilities.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nStrong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with employees and contractors.\nAbility to prioritize work and adapt to changing priorities.\nWillingness to work irregular or changing schedules with limited notice as business needs require.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators.\nAbility to work on elevated surfaces using ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.\nAbility to safely operate forklifts and other powered material handling equipment.\nAbility to work in a manufacturing environment around moving machinery and equipment.\nAbility to work outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.\nAbility to routinely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday.\nGeneral Job Requirements\nThis position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment.
