With sales and service locations throughout the world, and over 100 years of battery experience, EnerSys is the power/full solution for stored DC power products.\nJob Purpose\nThis position exists to assist the Sr. Safety Engineer in monitoring the facility and employees to ensure safe, healthy, and regulatory compliant working conditions.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nScheduling and Conducting Airborne Lead Monitoring.\nConducting Safety Audits/Walkthroughs/Reviews.\nPreparing, Scheduling and Conducting Safety Training.\nScheduling and Conducting Sound Level Monitoring and Noise Dosimetry.\nDiscussions with Team Leaders and Employees Regarding Various Safety/Health Matters.\nStocking, Ordering and Cleaning PPE and First Aid Equipment.\nScheduling, Conducting and Evaluating Audiometric Tests.\nTracking, Filing and Maintaining Databases of Safety/Health Training, Air-Lead Results, Blood-Lead Results, Noise Dosimetry Results, Audiometric Testing Results, Wipe Test Results, Fit Test Results, Prescription Safety Glasses Vouchers and Safety Shoe Vouchers.\nScheduling and Coordination of Blood-Lead Draws, Notifications and Laboratory Evaluation of Samples.\nScheduling and Conducting Respirator Fit Tests.\nUpdating MSDS Binders and Printing/Stocking Chemical Labels.\nIncident Investigations and Corrective Action Plans.\nScheduling, Conducting, Participating and/or Leading Employee Safety Committee and Ergonomics Committee.\nIdentifying, Assigning and Cleaning Employee Lockers.\nDeveloping, Maintaining and Coordinating Safety Incentive Programs.\nCoordinating and Providing First Responder and First Aid Duties.\nDeveloping, Maintaining and Revising Safety and Health Operating Procedures and Lockout/Tagout Procedures.\nScheduling and Conducting Wipe Tests to Evaluate Hygiene and Cleaning Methods.\nOther Duties as Assigned or Requested.\nQualifications\nA minimum of two years experience related to either manufacturing, industrial safety, or industrial hygiene. High School Diploma or GED, additionally the completion of at least 60 credit hours toward a degree in Industrial Safety or related field is desirable, but not essential. Completion of some coursework in Industrial Hygiene is preferable as well.\nLanguage Skills: English.\nAn understanding of algebra, scientific units, measurement conversions, and general calibration techniques is required to aid in developing and carrying out monitoring strategies and tasks.\nAnalytical ability to determine cause and effect relationships.\nFundamental keyboarding skills and ability to understand various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Baan and PowerPoint is required.\nAbility to obtain certification as an Occupational Hearing Conservationist from the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC).\nProficiency in reading, speech, and technical writing, knowledge of basic chemistry, and interpersonal skills.\nIrregular and changing working hours with little notice is required as directed to accomplish tasks on alternate shifts. Work schedule will often be assigned on the Thursday or Friday prior to the scheduled week.\nTRAVEL REQUIRED: Some overnight travel is required for training and certification purposes.\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
