The TSE provides technical expertise and direction in the development and successful implementation of energy conservation measures for retro-commissioning (RCx) activities. Projects typically involve complex, multi-building and multi-campus portfolios within higher education and healthcare environments, and are characterized by substantial mechanical infrastructure and advanced, integrated control strategies.\nThe role provides technical expertise across all phases of the commissioning (Cx) process and collaborates with the engineer of record to optimize system performance and develop practical solutions. Additionally, the TSE supports the training and mentorship of Technical Services (TS) staff. This role works in close collaboration with project managers, energy managers and team managers to ensure successful delivery of energy and operational performance outcomes.\nA TSE brings deep expertise in MEP design and the implementation of energy conservation measures, with a strong focus on building automation and energy management systems. They must uphold and promote the ENFRA brand by guaranteeing excellence in the execution of work and ensuring positive client experience, performing assigned duties with minimal supervision while working in a team problem-solving environment.\nThis role requires technical expertise in HVAC systems, building automation systems, and energy conservation strategies, with the ability to analyze complex system interactions and drive issue resolution across multidisciplinary teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates knowledge of the commissioning process, energy optimization methodologies, and industry standard best practices, while maintaining a strong focus on execution quality, documentation, and continuous improvement.\nResponsibilities\nSpecific responsibilities include:\nProvides technical assistance to pre-engineering teams during data collection surveys\nCoordinates site surveys to determine existing facility conditions and the requirements to complete the scope of work\nDevelop energy conservation strategies to execute the project scope of work related to retro-commissioning\nAssists design teams with the integration of energy conservation strategies to ensure a comprehensive approach to energy management\nReviews Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for equipment and services procurement to ensure project outcomes are accounted for\nAssists the project team with the review of critical equipment and system submittals for conformance\nConducts commissioning reviews and occasional peer reviews of design documents.\nTroubleshoots equipment/system installation and setup problems and assists in the optimization of complex equipment/system upgrades\nCompletes technical reports and supports the development of new tools supporting project execution\nUpholds and promotes the ENFRA brand by guaranteeing excellence in work execution\nQualifications\nRequired Education, Experience, and Qualifications:\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in engineering\nQualifications:\n5+ years of experience in engineering design, energy management, or retro commissioning\nProfessional Engineering (PE) license\nDemonstrated ability to problem solve and analyze complex systems\nStrong multitasking abilities and competence performing duties outside of the immediate scope of work when necessary\nDetail-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills\nPreferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications:\nCommissioning Certification from ACG, BCxA, or ASHRAE\nCertified Energy Manager (CEM)\nProject experience in healthcare and higher education settings\nChilled Water, Heating Water, Steam, and Tower Water system project experience\nProject experience with hydronic system distribution, including centralized and multi-plant system configurations\nBuilding automation, controls, and systems integration project experience\nExperience with AutoCAD and REVIT software\nTravel Requirements:\n30%-40% of time will be spent traveling to job site(s)/office location.\nPhysical/Work Environment Requirements: Physical Activities:\nAssessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned\nAscending and descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles\nClimbing stairs\nMoving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another\nRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers\nEnvironmental Conditions:\nOutdoor elements such as precipitation and wind\nNoisy environment\nQuiet environment\nPhysical Demands:\nMedium work that includes adjusting and/or moving objects up to 50 pounds\nPay Range\nUSD $111,771.00 - USD $149,209.50 /Yr.ENFRA is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities, Women, Protected Veterans, and Individuals with Disabilities, and participates in the e-Verify program.
