You'll run the UK finance function and bring together reporting at group level. It's a hands-on role with a broad remit. There's no Financial Controller above it, so you'll cover the full breadth of UK finance operations, group reporting and compliance, with the CFO reviewing the output.\nThis is a pivotal hire. You'll lead the move of the finance function in-house, designing, implementing and owning new processes and controls. You'll also have a real opportunity to shape the systems and tooling the business relies on as it scales. Engagetech operates globally, so the role needs strong technical accounting, including multi-currency consolidation across the group's entities.\nYou'll work alongside Commercial Finance, which leads FP&A, budgeting and forecasting. Your part is to supply accurate, timely financial information and data that's ready for analysis.\nReporting line\nReports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO)\nWorks in close partnership with Commercial Finance\nWorks closely with in-region accountants across the group to deliver group reporting\nKey responsibilities\nBringing finance in-house\nLead the move of the finance function in-house, keeping reporting, payments and compliance running without interruption\nDesign, implement and own end-to-end finance processes, controls and policies\nReview finance systems and tooling, and put in place improvements that will scale with the business\nUK finance and management accounts\nRun day-to-day UK finance, including ledgers, bank, payroll reconciliations and the monthly close\nDeliver accurate monthly UK management accounts with clear variance commentary, for CFO review\nAct as the first point of contact for finance queries from the UK business\nGroup reporting and consolidation\nPrepare the monthly multi-currency group consolidation, including FX translation and intercompany eliminations\nCoordinate and review monthly submissions from in-region accountants, resolving issues directly\nMaintain the consolidation model and make sure reporting complies with UK GAAP / IFRS\nAccounts payable and payments\nOwn group accounts payable, including Dext, Xero and Spendesk processing and approval workflows\nPrepare and authorise weekly payment runs, and carry out monthly supplier reconciliations\nYear-end, tax and commercial support\nCoordinate the group year-end close and act as the main contact for the external accountants\nManage tax compliance with external advisers, including UK VAT returns, corporation tax and cross-border obligations\nProvide Commercial Finance with accurate actuals and data to support budgeting and forecasting\nRequirements\nEssential\nACA or ACCA qualified, or part-qualified and in the final stage of exams, with a strong track record in a comparable role\nExperience in a hands-on, broad finance role within a multi-entity or group structure\nComfortable being the senior finance person day to day, covering everything from transactional processing to group reporting\nHands-on experience preparing management accounts and group consolidations\nStrong technical accounting knowledge of UK GAAP and / or IFRS, including multi-currency consolidations, foreign exchange and intercompany accounting\nExperience owning an accounts payable function, including approval workflows, payment runs and supplier reconciliations\nExperience managing a year-end close and working with external accountants and advisers\nHighly proficient in Excel and accounting systems, ideally including Xero, Dext and Spendesk\nDesirable\nExperience in a small, fast-growing business, ideally where finance was being built or scaled\nA track record of setting up, transforming or bringing in-house finance processes, systems and tooling\nGlobal or multi-jurisdiction experience, including working with overseas entities, accountants and tax requirements\nAbout you\nA self-starter who is happy working autonomously
