The acquisition also expanded Engelhart’s capabilities into physical natural gas across North America, a critical fuel to support the energy transition.\nOur talented and experienced individuals work together according to its four company values: Performance, Agility, Collaboration, Entrepreneurship.\nAbout the Role\nAs a Business Manager, you will help drive and coordinate the daily operations and long-term growth of Engelhart’s financial and physical commodities businesses in Europe. The products include European gas and power, renewables, dry bulk freight, and financial commodities trading. The role encompasses a broad and evolving remit with varying levels of complexity, requiring you to lead cross-functional initiatives and address complex business challenges across the organisation.\nTo be successful in this position, you will have a strong sense of ownership and accountability, as well as excellent communication skills, coupled with strong attention to detail and commitment to high quality work, whatever the task. If you are proactive, have demonstrated ability to independently lead and deliver complex initiatives and have a proven track record of delivering outcomes in complex, fast-paced environment within tight deadlines, then we want to hear from you!\nThe role provides exposure to all levels of staff seniority in an international commodities trading company, and includes an attractive compensation package and bonus scheme.\nThis will be a full-time role, owning the following responsibilities:\nAct as a key interface between trading desks and support functions, ensuring alignment and efficient delivery of initiatives.\nEnsure robustness and continuous improvement of processes, controls, and governance frameworks.\nApply deep understanding of systems and processes to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements.\nOwn and drive coordination of business controls and approvals, ensuring timely and effective outcomes.\nDrive business planning, performance monitoring, and cost analysis, providing actionable insights to senior management.\nLead resolution of complex operational challenges across desks, geographies and functions.\n\nAbout You\nThis person will be motivated to drive and coordinate business operations and strategic initiatives across a commodities trading platform. They will be a seasoned business manager, experienced with commodities trading and confident working with an international team.\nThe following background, experiences and skills are essential for application:\nA strong academic background; educated to degree level or equivalent.\nAt least 7-10 years of relevant experience within commodities or energy trading, of which at least 5 years must have been in business management.\nSolid experience of European power and gas, and preferably renewables too.\nExperience working cross-functionally with front office and support functions, with exposure to senior stakeholders.\nDemonstrable experience in communicating clearly and effectively (written and verbally), particularly with PowerPoint.\nStrong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Copilot.\nFluent English language skills are mandatory.\nIn addition, we believe the following would best set somebody up for success in this role, and so are highly desirable, though not mandatory for application:\nAble to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured trading environment.\nResilient under pressure; able to remain calm and effective when faced with multiple requests or demands at the same time.\nAble to work accurately at the lowest level of detail, while also being able to succinctly summarise key messages for senior management.\nAble to effectively prioritise tasks and consistently deliver high quality work, with the ability to rapidly re-prioritise if needed without losing track of lower priority items.\nA highly analytical, logical and detail-oriented working style.\nHave excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage in effective, direct communication across different levels of seniority with colleagues globally.\nWilling to act consistently as a team player; willing to get stuck into tasks outside of usual remit and help do everything necessary to make the business operate successfully.\nAble to adapt skillset to varying tasks, demonstrate flexibility and assimilate knowledge quickly.\n\nWhat we offer\nCompetitive compensation and participation in Engelhart’s discretionary bonus plan.\n25 days of annual holiday entitlement, excluding Swiss public holidays.\nRobust benefits package including generous healthcare, pension and insurance packages, as well supplemental benefits partially subsidised by the Company.\nEligibility to receive external and internal training in accordance with our Training & Development Policy.\nWe believe in inclusivity and are therefore dedicated to ensuring all employees - across gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, life experience, background and more - feel welcome and included in the company.
