The acquisition also expanded Engelhart’s capabilities into physical natural gas across North America, a critical fuel to support the energy transition.\nOur talented and experienced individuals work together according to its four company values: Performance, Agility, Collaboration, Entrepreneurship.\nAbout the Role\nThis is an exciting opportunity to join Engelhart as the first dedicated operations hire for our new Direct Market Access (DMA) business in London. Focused mainly on energy, and run in partnership with BTG, the business will be ring-fenced and segregated, with Engelhart providing operational support front to back on the DMA client side.\nThe successful candidate will run the day-to-day operations of the business, from client onboarding and system access through to trade entry, confirmations and settlements. Acting as the key link between Engelhart trading and BTG, the successful candidate will work closely with traders, cross-functional support teams, clients and external counterparties, building strong relationships while having the confidence to challenge and push back where needed.\nThis is a hands-on operational role that also calls for commercial awareness and a strong personality. This role offers the chance to play a central part in a new business as it grows.\nThis will be a full-time role, owning the following responsibilities:\nRun the operational side of the DMA client business front to back, from client onboarding and system access through to trade entry, confirmations and settlements.\nManage trade capture and entry, including Trayport access and set-up for DMA clients.\nOwn the confirmations process, including eConfirms, resolving breaks and queries with counterparties.\nWork through trade errors and discrepancies with traders, ensuring they are resolved quickly and accurately.\nServe as the day-to-day link between Engelhart trading and BTG, keeping both sides aligned and working in genuine partnership.\nBuild strong working relationships with traders and clients, pushing back where needed to protect process and controls.\nWork within Engelhart’s existing systems and processes, adapting them where needed to support DMA activity.\nLiaise with external parties including exchanges, platforms, clearers and counterparties.\nWork alongside the credit, legal and treasury functions that support the business.\nContinuously review and improve processes and controls as volumes and the client base grow.\n\nAbout You\nThis person will be the first and primary hire, responsible for all day-to-day operations of a new sell-side business collaboration between Engelhart and BTG Pactual.\nAs a result, we believe the followingexperiences and skills are essential for application:\nAround 5 years’ operations experience within an established sell-side DMA business.\nBackground at an investment bank, utility or trading house offering DMA.\nFamiliarity with energy exchanges and clearing, such as ICE and EEX, is key.\nHands-on experience of trade entry and Trayport.\nStrong working knowledge of eConfirms and the confirmations process.\nSolid understanding of energy market products, terminology and counterparties.\nExperience working directly with traders and resolving trade errors.\nConfidence to build relationships with traders and push back when needed.\nAbility to hit the ground running within existing systems while managing external parties.\nIn addition, the following is not required, but highly desirable for this role.\nExperience of client onboarding and exchange or platform access set-up for DMA clients.\nWhat we offer\nCompetitive compensation and participation in Engelhart’s discretionary bonus plan. \n25 days of annual holiday entitlement, excluding UK public holidays.\nRobust benefits package such as medical, dental, life insurance, generous pension contribution, and supplemental benefits partially subsidised by the Company. \nEligibility to receive external and internal training in accordance with our Training & Development Policy.\nWe believe in inclusivity and are therefore dedicated to ensuring all employees - across gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, life experience, background and more - feel welcome and included in the company.
