The acquisition also expanded Engelhart’s capabilities into physical natural gas across North America, a critical fuel to support the energy transition.\nOur talented and experienced individuals work together according to its four company values: Performance, Agility, Collaboration, Entrepreneurship.\nAbout the Role \nThis is an exciting opportunity to join our Global Middle Office team as a Middle Office Analyst based in either Houston TX or Stamford CT. The analyst will perform a key controlling function, supporting daily P&L calculation, valuation, position management, and risk oversight across multiple commodity trading businesses. In addition, the role will focus on driving process improvement, automation, data analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance the scalability and effectiveness of Middle Office operations. \nThe successful candidate will work closely with Trading, Market Risk, Operations, Finance, IT, and senior business stakeholders, serving as both a trusted business partner and a catalyst for continuous improvement across the organization. This role offers significant exposure to North American physical and financial Power & Gas markets while providing opportunities to lead strategic initiatives that strengthen controls, improve reporting, and leverage technology to create operational efficiencies. \nThis will be a full-time role, owning the following responsibilities: \nAnalyze daily P&L movements, positions, and risk exposures, providing meaningful commentary and challenge to trading desks and stakeholders. \nPrice and validate Futures, Options and Swap products, supporting daily mark-to-market and valuation processes. \nServe as a key liaison between Trading, Market Risk, Finance, Operations, IT, ISOs, and FCMs to resolve issues and support business initiatives. \nLead the identification, design, and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness across the Middle Office function. \nDevelop and maintain automation solutions using Python, SQL, AI tools, and other technologies to streamline reporting, reconciliations, data validation, and operational workflows. \nEvaluate and implement practical AI-driven solutions to improve data quality, exception management, reporting, documentation, and business decision support. \nDesign and enhance dashboards, analytics, and exception-based monitoring tools to provide actionable insights into P&L, positions, risk, and operational performance. \nPartner with business and technology teams on strategic projects, system enhancements, and data initiatives that improve operational resilience and support business growth. \nContinuously review existing processes and controls, identifying opportunities to reduce operational risk, eliminate manual effort, and improve overall effectiveness. \nAbout You \nWe believe the following experiences and skills will best set up this individual for success: \n3-5 years of commodities or derivatives market experience \nAdvanced Python coding and SQLknowledge\nExperience leveraging AI/LLM tools for business process automation \nPower BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms \nData analytics and workflow automation experience \nCommodities trading, risk, or Middle Office experience preferred \nStrong process improvement and project management capabilities \nIn addition, the following are not essential but highly desirable: \nKnowledge about risk management (VaR, drawdown, Greeks). \nFamiliarity with the following applications: Bloomberg, Zema, WebICE, CME Direct. \nWhat we offer \nCompetitive compensation and participation in Engelhart’s discretionary bonus plan. \n20 days of annual holiday entitlement, excluding US public holidays. \nRobust benefits package such as Medical, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, 401(k) match, and supplemental benefits partially subsidised by the Company. \nEligibility to receive external and internal training in accordance with our Training & Development Policy. \nWe believe in inclusivity and are therefore dedicated to ensuring all employees - across gender identity, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, life experience, background and more - feel welcome and included in the company.
