Our team of professionals is fully remote, spanning across Canada, the United States and Europe with optional in-person office spaces in Calgary and Toronto for collaborative work and hosting clients.\nPosition Summary\nThe Senior Accountant role is a hands-on, high-impact role that goes beyond traditional accounting. You’ll help run EII’s core finance operations while building smarter processes, systems and reporting for a fast-growing technology company. We’re looking for someone who is curious, solutions-oriented and excited to use data and technology to solve problems and partner across the business. The role offers broad exposure and the opportunity to grow into an Accounting Manager as we scale.\nThis is a full-time, fully remote position reporting to the Director of Finance, with a strong preference candidates in Toronto. This role is only open to candidates located in Canada who are authorized to work in Canada (Citizenship, Permanent Residency, or other work permit).\nRole/Responsibilities:\nAccounting OperationsOwn full-cycle accounting across EII, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close.\nTake full ownership of accounts payable, including vendor management, invoice processing, coordination of approvals, payment execution, employee expenses and corporate cards.\nPrepare and reconcile payroll journal entries, including departmental allocations, benefits, commissions and related accruals, working closely with the Director of Finance on payroll reporting and accounting.\nEnsure accounting records are accurate, complete and maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures.\n\nTreasury, Revenue & PlanningManage day-to-day banking and treasury activities, including cash positioning, bank reconciliations, transfers and payment execution.\nOwn the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including customer invoicing, collections, account reconciliations and follow-up on outstanding balances.\nMaintain deferred revenue and revenue recognition schedules, ensuring accurate accounting in accordance with customer contracts and applicable accounting standards.\nSupport cash flow forecasting and budget maintenance by updating actuals, maintaining supporting schedules and analyzing variances against plan.\n\nReporting & InsightsOwn the monthly financial reporting process, including preparation of financial statements, reconciliations, variance analysis and supporting schedules.\nMaintain financial and operating KPI reporting and dashboards, including revenue, ARR, cash burn/runway and other key business metrics.\nSupport the Director of Finance in preparing management and Board reporting, including financial analysis and key business insights.\n\nBusiness Partnership & SystemsCollaborate with Sales, Delivery and Marketing to ensure accurate and timely financial information across the customer lifecycle, from contracting and billing through delivery and collections.\nSupport the integration of CRM and finance processes, ensuring data accuracy, consistency and appropriate financial controls.\nLeverage technology, reporting tools and automation to improve efficiency and accuracy within established finance processes.\n\nControls & ScalabilitySupport audit, tax and compliance requirements, including preparation of schedules and coordination with external advisors.\nSupport multi-entity and multi-currency accounting across Canadian and US operations, including intercompany reconciliations.\n\nThe ideal candidate will have:\nCPA designation preferred or working towards.\n5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally in a Senior Accountant capacity.\nStrong hands-on full-cycle accounting experience, including month-end close, reconciliations, payroll accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury.\nStrong knowledge of financial reporting standards, revenue recognition, internal controls and multi-entity accounting.\nAdvanced proficiency with accounting systems and MS Excel; QuickBooks Online experience is an asset.\nPipedrive or other CRM experience is an asset, particularly in reporting, data management and integration with finance processes.\nA curious, hands-on and collaborative mindset, with the initiative to take ownership, anticipate next steps and follow through independently with minimal supervision.\nStrong analytical, organizational and communication skills, with attention to detail and a proactive approach to sharing progress, raising concerns and keeping
