Whether it’s better utilizing your current warehouse space, overhauling your order picking system or creating a rack-supported storage facility from the ground up, we pride ourselves in our ability to create customer-specific storage solutions that fit your budget and your unique needs. \nPOSITION SUMMARY \nPosition: CNC Laser Machinist \nReports to: Operations Manager \nLocation: Easley, SC \nAREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES \nThe CNC Laser Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining CNC laser cutting programs to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure accurate part processing, material utilization, and machine performance. The CNC Laser Programmer analyzes engineering drawings, models, and production requirements to create cost-effective cutting strategies while maintaining quality and safety standards.\nSKILLS AND ABILITIES\nCreate, modify, and optimize CNC laser programs for sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing operations. \nGenerate nesting layouts to maximize material utilization and minimize scrap.\nInterpret engineering drawings, blueprints, CAD models, and customer specifications to develop accurate cutting programs. \nSelect appropriate cutting parameters, tooling, and machine settings based on material type, thickness, and production requirements. \nSupport laser operators by troubleshooting programming, machine, and production issues. \nCollaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to improve part manufacturability and production efficiency. \nValidate first-run programs and make adjustments to improve quality, throughput, and machine performance. \nMaintain program libraries, revision controls, and documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency. \nAnalyze production data and recommend process improvements to reduce cycle times and manufacturing costs. \nAssist with implementation of new products, equipment, and manufacturing processes. \nEnsure compliance with all safety, quality, and company operating procedures. \nSupport continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing principles. \nMaintain accurate records of programming changes, machine settings, and production improvements. \nEDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certification in Manufacturing Technology, CNC Programming, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. \nMinimum of 3 years of CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment. \nExperience programming CNC laser cutting equipment such as Trumpf, Bystronic, Amada, Mazak, Mitsubishi, or similar systems preferred. \nProficiency with nesting and programming software such as CypNest, Hypcut, BesCutter Laser, or equivalent. \nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and technical specifications. \nExperience with CAD/CAM software and 3D modeling systems. \nStrong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes, material properties, and manufacturing best practices. \nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies preferred. \nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. \nExcellent attention to detail and commitment to quality. \nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nRegularly works in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts, forklifts, cranes, and industrial equipment. Noise levels may be moderate to high. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in production areas. \nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nMust be able to frequently walk throughout manufacturing areas, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Requires the ability to use computers, operate manufacturing equipment interfaces, and inspect parts and materials.
