You will be responsible for providing geological support to drilling, completion and production operations by integrating subsurface geological data to ensure the safe, efficient and economically optimised delivery of wells and exploitation of reservoirs. The role is responsible for real-time geological evaluation and decision-making during well operations, ensuring that wells are drilled and completed in line with approved geological and reservoir objectives.\n\nMain responsibilities:\n\nProvide real-time geological support during drilling operations, including wellsite monitoring and geological interpretation.\n\nAnalyse and interpret cuttings, cores, mud logs, wireline logs, LWD/MWD data, and other geological information to evaluate formations and reservoir quality.\n\nMonitor and interpret gas readings, lithology, formation pressure, and drilling parameters to identify geological changes and potential wellbore risks.\n\nCorrelate geological information with existing subsurface models and offset wells to support well placement and trajectory decisions.\n\nProvide timely geological recommendations to the Drilling, Reservoir Engineering, Geophysics, and Well Engineering teams.\n\nSupport geosteering and optimal well placement to maximise reservoir exposure and production potential.\n\nIdentify and evaluate hydrocarbon shows, reservoir intervals, formation tops, and fluid contacts during drilling.\n\nContribute to the preparation and review of well prognoses, geological programmes, and end-of-well reports.\n\nEnsure the accurate acquisition, quality control, interpretation, and documentation of wellsite geological data.\n\nParticipate in well planning, formation evaluation, logging, and coring programmes.\n\nSupport the identification and management of geological hazards and uncertainties that may impact drilling operations and well integrity.\n\nLiaise with wellsite geologists, drilling contractors, logging contractors, and other service providers to ensure the effective delivery of geological activities.\n\nMaintain up-to-date geological databases and ensure all acquired data are properly validated and archived.\n\nProvide geological input to field development planning, reservoir characterisation, and production optimisation.\n\nContribute to post-well evaluations and lessons learned to improve future drilling and development campaigns.\n\nEnsure all activities are conducted in compliance with applicable HSE requirements, company procedures, and technical standards.\n\nJoin Jobs Region WhatsApp Group To Receive Job Alerts!\nJobs Region Group 1\n\nJobs Region Group 2\n\nJobs Region group 3\n\nQualifications and Requirements:\n\nBSc or MSc in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Surface Engineering, or a related discipline.\n\nSignificant relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.\n\nDrilling & Completion: Advanced drilling; completion activities; drilling activities; rigless high-profile completion and workover operations; high-profile drilling.\n\nExploration: Basin assessment and screening; geological data integration and interpretation; geophysical data interpretation; prospect generation and evaluation.\n\nGeology: Experimental petrophysics; geochemistry; petrography; petrophysics; reservoir characterisation; rock mechanics; sedimentology; stratigraphy; structural geology; well data acquisition and evaluation.\n\nGeophysics: AVO and geophysical interpretation; borehole seismics; cartography, topography and geodesy.\n\nGlobal: Data management;
