Must live in MI, IN, KY, or AL.*\nPOSITION NAME: Senior Software Engineer\nREPORTS TO: IT Production Manager\nEDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s (4-year) degree with a technical major, such as Information Systems, Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.\nEXPERIENCE:\nRequired: 4 - 6 years high level technical support, implementation and development experience, preferably in an automotive manufacturing or industrial setting \nRequired: 3 - 5 years experience in software development, preferably with Python\nRequired: 3 - 5 years experience in project management\nRequired: 3 - 5 years experience in T-SQL development, such as SQL queries, Stored Procedures, or SQL Views\nPreferred: Experience installing, maintaining, and administering MSSQL Databases \nPreferred: Experience with equipment integration using OPC Servers \nKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:\nTechnical Leadership\nSupport and lead major software IT initiatives and projects across the organization\nLead technical discussions and contribute to architectural decisions\nConduct thorough code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices\nTroubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions\nStay current with emerging technologies and industry trends\nDevelopment & Engineering\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code\nOptimize application performance and ensure system reliability\nParticipate in the full software development lifecycle from planning to deployment\nDesign and implement sound data models to support scalability and interoperability between multiple facilities\nLook for opportunities to integrate disparate systems through the use of data connections, APIs, SAML, LDAP, etc. \nCollaboration & Mentorship\nWork with the Engineering and Plant teams to develop applications to meet both customer and internal needs\nMentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing guidance on technical and career development\nCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Accounting, Engineering, Production, Production Control, and Quality.\nParticipate in agile development processes and sprint planning\nCommunicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders\nSoft Skills\nMaintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations\nExcellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills\nAbility to work both independently and as part of a team\nStrong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical teams\nWork with third party vendors to ensure performance and high availability of vendor databases and applications\nMiscellaneous\nCollaborate with IT team to learn systems, and complete ad hoc/project work\nManage your own work and projects using modern project management tools\nSupport IT software systems that interface with the physical process.\nParticipate in a hotline rotation, which requires you to provide 24-7 hotline support during the week you are assigned to the hotline\nOther duties as assigned\nKEY TECHNOLOGIES AND SOFTWARE:\n Must be proficient in the following technologies and software platforms\nIgnition by Inductive Automation\nSQL Server, including knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server\nOPC, including both OPC-UA and OPC-DA\nBI Analytics with tools such as Power BI, Qlik Sense, or Cognos\nFamiliar with ERP systems, such as CMS, SAP, or QAD\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:\nResponsibilities may require working some evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advance notice.
