Enovis Surgical offers surgeons and their patients a full range of primary and revision implants for hip, knee, shoulder, and elbow reconstructive joint surgeries, in addition to the tools and digital health technology needed in today’s changing healthcare environment.\nJob Title/High-Level Position Summary: Organize, plan, and execute testing to support development and evaluation of new and existing orthopedic products primarily through mechanical tests. Produce reports and maintain laboratory operations in accordance with internal requirements and provide evidence used in regulatory submissions.\nKey Responsibilities:\nSupport research and development of new and existing orthopedic products \nConduct mechanical testing following industry standards (ASTM) and internal procedures \nEnsure accuracy and quality of test data and reports \nDesign and manufacture custom fixture components for testing \nLiaison with external testing vendors \nOperate and maintain mechanical testing systems (e.g., MTS, Instron, ADMET) \nAssist in developing product specific testing strategies to support submissions to FDA \nSupport development, review, and revisions of ASTM testing standards \nOversee and assist student engineers \nLinear finite element analysis \nMinimum Basic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in mechanical, biomedical, or other relevant STEM fields \nStrong verbal and written communication skills. \nProfessional and courteous demeanor. \nBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email. \nStrong organizational and time-management skills. \nAbility to handle confidential information appropriately. \nAbility to multitask and work effectively in a professional office environment. \nStrong attention to detail and reliability. \nLift, carry, pull up to 25 pounds. \nStand or sit for extended periods of time. \nTravel Requirements:\nOccasional, Desired Characteristics:\n2+ years work experience in mechanical industry \nIntuitive understanding of mechanical behavior such as reaction forces, moment arm, torque, stress and strain \nFundamental understanding of material properties and behaviors under quasistatic and dynamic loading \nHands-on attitude regarding mechanical testing, testing tools and software, data acquisition and data reduction \nExperience in failure analysis \nExperience with common microscopy techniques (e.g. optical, SEM) \nExperience with cadaveric tissue, dissection, and preparation \nProactive and willing to take initiative \nComfortable working with employees at all levels of the organization \nAdaptable and able to handle changing priorities \nFamiliarity with a regulated or medical-device environment \nCurrently, Enovis does not provide sponsorship for employment visas (e.g., H-1B) and will not offer such sponsorship in the future.
