The ideal candidate possesses deep experience with battery-powered platforms such as UAVs, UAS payloads, loitering munitions, unmanned ground vehicles, soldier systems, tactical communications equipment, robotics, or aerospace platforms. They understand how batteries impact mission performance and can translate operational requirements into technical solution. This highly customer-facing role requires strong systems engineering skills, hands-on troubleshooting capability, and the ability to influence design decisions at leading defense OEMs and integrators.\nKey Responsibilities\nCustomer Technical Leadership\nServe as the primary technical interface for defense and drone customers evaluating and integrating Enovix batteries. \nSupport design-in activities from initial evaluation through production deployment. \nConduct technical reviews with customer engineering teams, system architects, and program managers. \nDevelop trusted advisor relationships with key defense OEMs, drone manufacturers, battery pack developers, and system integrators. \nSystem Integration & Validation\nSupport integration of Enovix cells into: \nUAVs \nRobotics platforms \nAerospace and defense electronics \nDefine battery characterization, validation, and qualification plans. \nEvaluate system-level performance impacts including: \nFlight endurance \nPayload capability \nHigh-power operation \nFast charging \nThermal management \nEnvironmental durability \nAnalyze field performance and recommend design improvements. \nTechnical Problem Solving\nLead root-cause analysis of customer integration and performance issues. \nInvestigate failures related to: \nBattery performance \nCharging systems \nSystem integration \nReliability and field returns \nWork cross-functionally to drive corrective actions and customer solutions. \nProduct & Market Development\nGather customer requirements and provide feedback to Product Management and R&D. \nSupport benchmarking of competitive battery technologies used in defense and drone applications. \nAssess emerging opportunities in: \nAutonomous systems \nDefense modernization programs \nTactical ISR platforms \nAI-enabled edge devices \nNext-generation soldier systems \nContribute to application notes, integration guides, white papers, and customer training materials. \nBusiness Support\nSupport strategic customer visits, technical workshops, demonstrations, and industry events. \nParticipate in proposal reviews and technical evaluations. \nHelp establish Enovix as the preferred battery technology supplier for defense and autonomous systems. \nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related discipline. \n5+ years of engineering experience in one or more of the following: \nDefense systems \nDrone/UAV platforms \nAerospace systems \nBattery technologies \nAutonomous systems \nRobotics \nPower electronics \nHands-on experience supporting customer-facing engineering programs. \nStrong understanding of lithium-ion batteries and battery system integration. \nExperience with system-level validation and qualification testing. \nAbility to analyze electrical, thermal, and mechanical interactions within battery-powered systems. \nExcellent presentation, communication, and technical writing skills. \nStrong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis capability. \nAbility to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%) to customer and industry locations. \nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience working with UAV or military battery systems. \nExperience supporting defense contractors, government programs, or military customers. \nFamiliarity with battery management systems (BMS), charging architectures, and power distribution systems. \nUnderstanding of drone mission profiles and propulsion requirements. \nExperience with environmental, vibration, shock, abuse, and reliability testing. \nKnowledge of military and aerospace qualification standards. \nFamiliarity with battery pack development and integration. \nExperience supporting field testing and operational evaluations. \nAdvanced degree in relevant engineering discipline. \nIdeal Candidate Profile\nThe successful candidate is a systems thinker who understands that battery performance directly impacts mission effectiveness.
