This hands-on role combines people management, technical leadership, stakeholder management, and end-to-end data project delivery.\nYou will translate business priorities into execution plans, guide technical decisions, unblock the team, and deliver reliable data products for BI, self-service analytics, and AI-enabled use cases.\nWhat you'll do\nLead, coach, and develop an international BI and Data Analytics team.\n\nBuild a motivating, accountable, and change-oriented team environment.\n\nModel clean, documented datasets in dbt, from staging through to marts.\n\nOwn tests, documentation, metric definitions, data contracts, and version control workflows.\n\nDevelop a semantic layer with governed metrics and dimensions.\n\nDrive the ongoing adoption of dbt best practices, ensuring models and documentation are consistent, well-structured, and ready for AI-powered analytics.\n\nSupport team in the diagnosis of source data issues, reconciliation inconsistencies, and establishment of a single source of truth.\n\nSupport data migration, ELT pipelines, and data platform consolidation.\n\nOptimize Snowflake performance, data freshness, and data quality.\n\nOwn and continuously improve the processes that keep our data platform reliable.\n\nUse Python for data checks, automation, and utilities.\n\nPartner with BI and business teams to deliver certified datasets, self-service standards, and end-to-end reporting solutions.\n\nTranslate business needs into scalable data products and governed metrics.\n\nTurn business priorities into project plans, identify risks and trade-offs, unblock the team, and drive delivery to completion.\n\nMentor the team on analytics engineering best practices, modern tooling, and AI-assisted development.\n\nWhat you'll bring\n3+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, BI Development, Data Engineering, or a related field, including 1+ years of people or team leadership.\n\nExpert-level SQL and strong data modeling and architecture skills, including star schemas, semantic layers, governed metrics, data contracts, and ELT pipelines.\n\nHands-on experience building production-grade dbt projects, including staging-to-marts layering, tests, documentation, ownership, and version-control workflows.\n\nSnowflake experience, including query performance optimization, data freshness, and quality monitoring.\n\nPython skills for data checks, automation, and utilities.\n\nExperience with data quality and operations, including testing, monitoring, source-data reconciliation, CI/CD, data cataloging, and cost/performance tuning.\n\nExperience creating dbt models and documentation, AI-ready data products, and using AI-assisted development tools.\n\nExperience delivering certified datasets, self-service standards, and BI/reporting solutions end-to-end.\n\nStrong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a hands-on, entrepreneurial, and problem-solving mindset.\n\nA motivational leadership style, positive drive for change, and confidence to challenge assumptions and make decisions.\n\nNice to have\nExperience with semantic layer tools such as dbt MetricFlow or Snowflake Semantic Views.\n\nExperience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.\n\nExperience leading distributed or international teams.\n\nGerman language skills.
