This position has direct supervision for the hourly team members who are responsible for on-time delivery of finished products.\nEssential Functions Performed by the Position\nLeads with a safety-first culture and champions all safety and housekeeping improvement activities/programs while being proactive in eliminating potential safety hazards and unsafe behavior.\nEnsures near miss, incident reports, and investigations happen in a timely manner.\nDirectly manages the activities of assemblers/millwrights.\nAssists Engineering with scope of work, including providing details on the inventory parts used during the machining and welding process.\nEnsures safety and quality procedures are followed.\nManages and schedules department team members to ensure on-time delivery and efficient use of the shop floor resources.\nApproves scheduled overtime for hourly team members.\nReviews all new jobs with engineering team and the departmental team members.\nManages the required resources for emergency and non-standard jobs as needed.\nAccountable for accurate record keeping of direct and indirect time.\nProvides information for critical plant KPI’s.\nMonitors the consumption of consumable supplies to ensure the production operation is meeting the forecasted budget.\nMonitors the proper care and condition of all machines, tools, equipment, facilities, and other physical assets and works with the Plant Manager to determine the need for replacement or repair.\nAssesses, trains, and coaches team members as needed to improve the sites overall performance and contribution to the company’s success.\nConsistently enforces team member compliance with safety, work rules, company policies and procedures, and standards.\nCommunicate all discrepancies to the proper management personnel.\nResponsible for reviewing and evaluating the performance of hourly team members within the assembly team.\n Required Education and Experience\nAssociate’s Degree or equivalent technical school degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nMinimum of 5 years of supervisory experience.\n5-7 years of related work experience.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nProven leadership and supervisory skills in a heavy manufacturing environment.\nKnowledgeable in industrial safety standards and OSHA safety regulations.\nMust have the ability to manage multiple projects of varying degrees of difficulty at one time.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.\nExperience with machining, welding, disassembly, and assembly of industrial equipment and components.\nStrong mechanical aptitude.\nDemonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office software.\nStrong verbal/written communication skills.\nMust have strong listening skills and be able to make decisions quickly.\nMust be a good communicator with effective team member relation skills.\nAbility to use handheld measuring tools and instruct staff on using math and measuring tools.\n The benefits of joining our team\nBecause we seek to hire the best people, we work hard to provide benefits that make their lives better, so we offer a comprehensive benefit program which features:\nhealth coverage for you and your family through medical, dental, and vision plans\na 401(k) plan in with a generous company match\nfinancial protection through disability, life, and accidental death & dismemberment insurance plans\ntax advantages through flexible spending accounts that allow you to pay for specific health-care and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars\na generous paid time off program in which the benefits increase along with your tenure with the company\nWhen you join our team, you do more than simply switch companies to progress your career.
