Senior Civil Engineer

We are currently seeking a full-time Civil Engineer to join our Bowling Green, KY; Nashville, TN; or Knoxville, TN office.  This is an excellent opportunity to join and grow EnSafe, getting involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

In this position, you will:  

• Support and lead engineering design efforts for site civil, stormwater drainage, industrial wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects.
• Serve as a technical lead on a variety of projects, including civil site design, solid waste management facilities, landfill design, impoundments, and utility infrastructure improvements.
• Develop engineering designs and deliverables to support regulatory permitting, site development, technical specifications, and bid documents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate challenges and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Participate in and coordinate design and construction meetings with clients, contractors, and subcontractors, including pre-bid meetings.
• Plan, schedule, and execute detailed phases of engineering and design work to meet project objectives and timelines.
• Support business development activities through proposal preparation, marketing initiatives, project management, and ongoing client engagement as appropriate.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the applicable state, or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity within a reasonable timeframe.
• 10+ years of civil engineering design experience.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
• Experience delivering civil engineering design projects for municipal and industrial clients.
• Experience preparing engineering plans, specifications, technical reports, permitting documentation, and bid packages.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting processes and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Ability to review and seal engineering plans and technical documents, as required.
• Willingness to travel regionally, with occasional national travel for client and project meetings.

Preferred Skills:

• Previous experience working within an engineering consulting firm.
• Experience with site development, stormwater management, industrial wastewater, landfill design, or solid waste management projects.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary project teams.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.
• Experience supporting proposals, client development, and business development activities.
