As part of Ensera, we collaborate globally with contract manufacturing facilities in Europe, the USA, and Asia.\nWe are currently seeking an Electronics Engineer (initially on a 12-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of moving to a permanent contract) looking to combine their well-established engineering expertise and consultancy skills to the development of new products and technologies. This is primarily a full-time role (38 hours per week) based out of our Bristol office however a proportion of the work can be conducted at home and we will consider the possibility of part-time working for the right candidate.\nAs an Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of electronic systems as part of the Electronics & Software team. You will consult with clients to understand their challenges and use your creative and technical skills to identify and bring to life solutions. You will use your knowledge of electronic and physical first principles, analytical skills, practical experimentation, and simulation skills to take electronic systems from concepts through to production. You will have the opportunity to lead projects, proposal writing, planning, specification development and presenting project activities.\nAbout you\nUltimately you will be passionate about electronics, science and technology, using your knowledge to solve problems. You’ll enjoy collaborating across a variety of disciplines internally with colleagues and be able to manage external stakeholders and clients, even when things are difficult.\nRequirements\nYour skills and experience\nWhilst you do not need to meet all of these points, please ensure you meet the majority of them before making an application:\nExcellent knowledge and experience of Electronic Engineering.\n\nA strong understanding of electronics first principles and ability to perform basic hand calculations to check designs.\n\nExperience with 32-bit ARM micro-controllers (e.g. STM32, nRF).\n\nAn in depth understanding of common wired and wireless communications protocols. including I2C, UART, SPI, Bluetooth LE, USB, Ethernet etc.\n\nAn understanding of best practice in PCB layout.\n\nExperience with low power circuit design.\n\nYou will be comfortable presenting work to others.\n\nYou will enjoy collaborating with other engineering and design disciplines in project teams.\n\nYou will have solid commercial awareness and be able to manage time and budget effectively.\n\nExperience designing and testing for compliance, CE/FCC, EMC, radio, safety etc.\n\nDesirable beneficial experience:\nExperience of working in a consultancy environment.\n\nMedical device development experience, such EN 60601.\n\nExperience developing systems from concept to design for manufacture.\n\nExperience using Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.\n\nExperience developing embedded software (C/C++).\n\nThe salary for this role is in line with our Consultant band which is £40,800 to £50,000.
