CA and IBM tools for IMS a plus\nExtensive experience with the following:\n· Knowledge in best practices of software management, maintenance and documentation\n· Configure and manage IMS in a parallel sysplex environment\n· Develop innovation, strategies, processes and best practices in IMS systems programming\n· Troubleshooting and solving of IMS System and database issues\n· Evaluating change requests and determine impact to assigned clients\n· Troubleshooting and solving production database issues\n· Strong JCL skills\n· Database Administration\no Knowledge of IMS database organization using access methods of VSAM and OSAM\no Full function database organization types: HSAM, HISAM, SHISAM, HDAM, HIDAM, INDEX, GSAM\no Definition and use of LOGICAL databases: HALDB (partitioned): PHDAM, PHIDAM, ILDS, PSINDEX, etc.\no Knowledge of Fast Path databases (DEDBs)\no Database Design and related utilities\no DBD source coding and DBDGEN\no PSB source coding and PSBGEN\no How databases are processed using secondary indexes (PROCSEQ=)\no Correct usage of PROCOPT= to minimize database locking\no Understanding of path calls\no Understanding of bi-directional logical relationships\no Understanding and use of Data Set Groups\n\nOther Qualifications\nReviewing new versions of IMS for functionality, advising how they benefit the client\nVendor consultations for problems and questions\nDR recovery of application objects\nIMS commands related to ACB and FORMAT changes\nCoding and usage of IMS reorganization utilities (including IBM, BMC, CA)\nKnowledge of log archive and change accumulation utilities\nIdentification and resolution of performance issues \nOnline tracing - Usage of IMS TRACE commands and associated utilities for spot monitoring of online program/transaction activity\nA solid working knowledge of SMP/E and its role in the installation process\nSolid understanding of IMS database structures\nUnderstanding of IMS connect, MFS for IMS message formatting, Compression routines, Randomizers, Assembler, exits in the install process, and IRLM in a data sharing environment\nExtracting information from IMS logs\nUsing DBRC to monitor database activity\nWhy Ensono? \nEnsono is a place we unleash Associates to Do Great Things - for our clients and for your career. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs.
