Candidates with disabilities who require accommodations during the recruitment process are encouraged to contact our Talent Acquisition team to place a request.\nSenior Mainframe Storage Systems Programmer\nPosition Summary\nProvide premium Mainframe Storage system programming support and services to Ensono mainframe clients.\nThe successful candidate will work on storage infrastructure administration, configuration, and installation. This encompasses DASD, tape, virtual tape, encryption, and replication for backup and DR capabilities. The associate will perform software and hardware refreshes, customer migrations and daily customer support.\nKey Areas of Focus for this Role\nFulfill customer service requests for mainframe customers in a timely manner as they pertain to Mainframe Storage administration and related products\nProvide DASD and tape storage administration support for our customers.\nManage storage pools for multiple customers and LPARs.\nPerform problem diagnostics and resolution.\nCreate and oversee jobs for daily, weekly, and monthly backups.\nParticipate in Data Center migration projects using multiple methodologies.\nPerform data and volume recovery.\nPerform data migrations between storage frames for existing customers.\nInteract with hardware and software vendors as required.\nFollow procedures for customizing Mainframe Storage related ISV products efficiently and according to best practices and Ensono standards (for productivity/scalability purposes).\nProvide primary support for reported problems related to Mainframe Storage and related software products\nProvide support on 24 x 7 x 365 basis across multiple time zones.\nProvide key support for customer migration services (new customer transitions) as they pertain to Mainframe Storage and related OEM software products.\nProvide primary support for reported problems related to Mainframe Storage - DASD and Tape Systems\nCommunicate to both customer and management the status of issues at intervals during resolution process.\nMaintain documentation of issue cause, action, and resolution in the designated problem tracking system.\nAssist the assigned project manager in the migration of newly acquired customers such that all technical hurdles are addressed in a timely manner and do not impede the expected progress of the transition nor the targeted migration date.\nIn joint co-operation with the Disaster Recovery Services and other technical teams, successfully execute tasks associated with any given customer’s disaster recovery plans.\nAid and assist other mainframe teams as required to support them and our clients.\nAdhere to a schedule that efficiently manages resources and allows timely implementations.\nFollow ITSM change control procedures\nWhat the Ideal Candidate Brings to this Role\nRequired Qualifications help to assure new Associates are set up for success in their role with Ensono. professional experience in Mainframe Storage Support\nExtensive skills with IBM storage software including IBM Copy Services Manager/Global Mirroring, SMS, HSM, IDCAMS, and DFDSS.\nExperience in preparing and implementing Disaster Recovery plans\nExpert knowledge of catalog structures, LPAR sysplexes, and resource sharing.\nExtensive knowledge of DASD hardware configurations incorporating replication.\nExtensive skills with IBM and Oracle/STK tape hardware and software.\nAbility to analyze performance on DASD and tape subsystems.\nExtensive skills with CA-1, MIMTape.\nFunctional skills with Dell/EMC.\nFunctional skills with RMM, TLMS, GRS, Tapecopy, and SMF.\nExperience in customization of Mainframe Storage related ISV software products\nExperience using various system monitoring software in problem determination, particularly for performance/response problems related to Mainframe Storage\nAbility to develop innovation, strategies, processes, and best practices in software management\nSupport planned (disaster recovery) and unplanned (emergency) database recovery activities\nKnowledgeable in best practices of software management, maintenance, and documentation\nExperience with establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, DR, security, maintenance, and utilization\nAbility to evaluate change requests and determine impact to assigned clients and troubleshooting and solving production database issues.\nOther Qualifications\nSelf-motivated and able to work independently.\nStrong analytical skills required for quick problem determination and isolation of root cause with emphasis on required recovery actions to minimize impact to client business.\nDemonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to support requests from multiple clients\nMust be able to multi-task and work under short deadlines and in high pressure situations.\nExcellent communication skills (written, verbal and
