These five traits are the key to achieving our purpose:\nHonesty, Reliability, Curiosity, Collaboration, and Passion.\nAbout the role and what you'll be doing: \nServe as the primary mainframe capacity planning lead and trusted advisor for a dedicated client environment.\nAnalyze mainframe performance, workloads, and resource utilization to optimize capacity, efficiency, and system availability.\nDevelop and maintain forecasting models, trending analyses, and capacity plans to support future business and technology needs.\nDesign, implement, and enhance automation solutions that streamline capacity planning processes and improve operational efficiency.\nEstablish, monitor, and refine key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics aligned with client commitments and organizational goals.\nPerform impact analyses and capacity assessments across IBM Z, z/OS, and supporting subsystems to support workload growth and technology changes.\nProvide advanced technical expertise for architecture reviews, technology refresh initiatives, workload migrations, and client onboarding projects.\nLead complex capacity planning projects independently while managing competing priorities and delivering client-focused solutions.\nMentor junior team members, deliver training, promote knowledge sharing, and influence technical strategies across teams.\nSupport capacity-related incident investigations, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives while serving as a thought leader in mainframe capacity management.\nWe want all new Associates to succeed in their roles at Ensono. If you do not meet all of the Preferred Qualifications, we still encourage you to apply. \n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience; or a Master's degree with 6+ years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.\nStrong understanding of the mainframe market landscape, including current technologies, industry trends, and business drivers.\nExperience with mainframe programming, automation, or process optimization initiatives.\nProficiency with JCL, REXX, and other mainframe scripting or automation technologies.\nHands-on experience with MXG and/or other mainframe capacity planning and performance management tools.\nAdvanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.\nExperience with IBM Z Capacity on Demand (CoD) and IBM ZCP3000 capacity planning methodologies.\nKnowledge of IBM mainframe pricing models, software licensing, and Sub-Capacity Reporting Tool (SCRT).\nDemonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and resolve mainframe capacity and system performance challenges.\nStrong understanding of z/OS internals and key mainframe subsystems, including workload and resource management concepts.\nExceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nProven ability to define, organize, and execute work independently in complex, ambiguous, and rapidly changing environments.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with IBM Z Capacity on Demand (CoD), ZCP3000, SCRT, and mainframe pricing models.\nAdvanced expertise with MXG or comparable capacity and performance management tools.\nExperience developing forecasting models, capacity plans, and performance optimization strategies for enterprise-scale IBM Z environments.\nPrior experience leading automation initiatives within mainframe operations or capacity planning functions.\nWhy Ensono?\nEnsono is a place to make better happen - for our clients and for your career. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs.
