The individual will need to work with vendor personnel to achieve timely solutions of database problems. The individual will be responsible for day-to-day database maintenance such as database definition changes, backups and restores, monitoring space growth, database reorganizations, creating and maintaining disaster recovery procedures and overall support of customer needs and requests. The successful candidate will be called upon to perform a variety of tasks including database optimization, database performance reviews and tuning, and new client onboarding. The individual will provide 24x7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members. Candidates that may meet some, but not all, Other Qualifications are still encouraged to apply. \nRequired Qualifications \nBachelor’s degree required and/or equivalent work experience. \n10+ years of professional experience in Software AG ADABAS/Natural and related products for administration and systems programming support. \nExtensive experience with the following: \nBest practices of Software management, maintenance, and documentation \nConfigure and manage Software AG ADABAS and related products such as Natural \nSME in the topics of: \nADABAS database administration, NATURAL Security, Fast Path \nDatabase Design \nDefining FDT and DDMs. \nPerformance tuning \nUse of ADABAS utilities such as Delta Save Facility, ADABAS Utilities Natural utilities, SMA, Program Migration tool, Review, etc \nKnowledge of log archive and change accumulation utilities \nKnowledge of ADARUN Parameters and Buffer pools. \nKnowledge of Protection logging and Command Logging. \nEstablishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, disaster recovery, product and database security, maintenance, and utilization \nReviewing new versions of Software AG ADABAS and related products for functionality, advising how they benefit the client \nManage vendors relations and quickly resolve problems and questions \nApplying Licenses for SAG products and applying ZAPs and Service packs for Software AG products \nCooperation with the Disaster Recovery Services, successfully execute tasks associated with any given customer’s disaster recovery plans. \nSupport planned (disaster recovery) and unplanned (emergency) database recovery activities \nTroubleshooting and solving production database issues \nIdentification and resolution of performance issues \nDatabase administration including administering and customizing ADABAS/Natural \nDatabase design and experience with batch and online Software AG ADABAS/Natural \nDatabase monitoring including space monitoring and performance monitoring \nMaintenance and usage of Software AG ADABAS and related products and utilities \nExperience in a large, 24x7 multi-database environments and the ability to manage competing priorities \n\nOther Qualifications \nExcellent communication skills (written, verbal and presentations) \nAbility to work as part of a team and assist teammates when needed \nDemonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to support requests from multiple clients \nFollow ITSM change control procedures \nSelf-motivated and able to work independently. \nDemonstrated ability to respond quickly and effectively to support requests from multiple clients \nMust be able to multi-task and work under short deadlines and in high pressure situations. \nAbility to work as part of a team, as well as independently. \nWhy Ensono? \nEnsono is a place to make better happen - for our clients and for your career. Please note that placement in the range may vary based on numerous factors including but not limited to skills, experience, internal equity, and business needs.
