Check us out at www.ensono.com.\nJob Summary\nThe AIX L3 System Administrator is responsible for expert-level administration, engineering, and support of IBM AIX and pSeries environments. This role acts as the highest technical escalation point, owning complex troubleshooting, performance tuning, migrations, virtualization, and lifecycle management while ensuring system stability, security, and availability in mission-critical environments.\nKey Responsibilities\nAIX & pSeries Administration\nInstall, configure, administer, and maintain IBM AIX servers in enterprise environments\n\nPerform AIX OS administration, kernel management, and LVM management\n\nManage user administration, security policies, password, and identity management\n\nAdminister system services such as NIS, NFS, Samba, and printer services\n\nVirtualization & Power Platform\nStrong expertise in PowerVM / VIOS, HMC, and AIX virtualization\n\nBuild and administer VIOS servers\n\nManage HMC administration and upgrades (Version 9 & 10)\n\nDeep knowledge of Power8, Power9, and Power10/11 pSeries architectures\n\nExpert understanding of:\nDLPAR\n\nLPM (Live Partition Mobility)\n\nVirtual networking\n\nVirtual storage\n\nSR-IOV, vNIC adapters\n\nHands-on experience with NPIV and SAN-attached storage\n\nBuild, Migration & Lifecycle Management\nPerform AIX server build and configuration using best practices\n\nManage NIM (Network Installation Manager) for OS deployment and maintenance\n\nExecute OS patching, upgrades, and VIOS upgrades\nLead and execute AIX OS migrations: 6.1, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3.\n\nPerform hardware refresh, storage migration, and platform migrations\n\nExperience in pSeries hardware commissioning and implementation\n\nPerformance, HA & DR\nAnalyze resource utilization and system performance\n\nPerform performance tuning and capacity planning\n\nStrong experience in storage management, SAN environments, and HA concepts\n\nDesign and support Fault Tolerant systems, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery planning\n\nIncident, RCA & Operations\nAct as final escalation point for complex AIX and hardware-related issues\n\nStrong in hardware and OS-level troubleshooting\n\nLead Major Incident troubleshooting and RCA\n\nPerform trend analysis, identify recurring issues, and drive corrective actions\n\nCoordinate with hardware vendors for issue resolution\n\nPlan, schedule, and execute changes; coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders\n\nPrepare weekly and monthly operational status reports\n\nAdhere to ITIL processes, quality, and security standards\n\nAutomation & Documentation\nDevelop Shell / Perl scripts to automate day-to-day administration tasks\n\nMaintain and update technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base\n\nSupport continuous knowledge acquisition and documentation updates\n\nLeadership & Collaboration\nProvide technical SME support across projects and operations\n\nWork closely with application, database, storage, network, and cloud teams\n\nCommunicate effectively with interdisciplinary technical and non-technical teams\n\nWork in rotational shifts and on-call support models\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\n8-12+ years of hands-on experience in IBM AIX and pSeries administration\n\nDeep understanding of IBM AIX OS and Power Systems architecture\n\nStrong experience with PowerVM, VIOS, HMC\n\nExcellent troubleshooting skills for OS and hardware issues\n\nStrong scripting skills (Shell, Perl)\n\nExperience in enterprise production environments\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nIBM Certifications in:\nAIX System Administration\n\npSeries Hardware\n\nPerformance Tuning\n\nNetwork Administration\n\nExperience in large, mission-critical environments\n\nExposure to hybrid or cloud-integrated IBM Power workloads\n\nProfessional Attributes\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nAbility to diagnose and resolve issues quickly under pressure\n\nExcellent communication and documentation skills\n\nProactive, detail-oriented, and ownership-driven mindset\n\nTeam-oriented approach with mentoring and knowledge-sharing attitude\n\nShift timing- 1:30 PM to 10:30 PM\nWe are an equal opportunity employer.
