  • Support incident investigations and site inspections, assist in identifying root causes and risks, and drive timely corrective actions.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the production floor to identify hazards, address safety and environmental concerns, and reinforce safe behaviors.
  • Partner with engineering and operations on new projects and process changes to identify EHS risks, implement appropriate controls, and obtain required environmental permits. This would include participation in MOC, FMEA, PSSR, etc.
  • Manage environmental compliance programs, including air, water, and waste, along with required monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting.
  • Support regulatory inspections and serve as the primary contact for agency inquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Track and review EHS performance metrics to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain any required corporate management system activities, including internal audits and ongoing improvements.
  • Build strong working relationships across the site to promote accountability, collaboration, and a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Knowledge & Skills):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Science, Engineering, or a related EHS discipline required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (7-10+ years preferred), with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
  • Hands-on experience managing both safety and environmental compliance programs, including air, water, and hazardous waste regulations.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, and applicable state requirements).
  • Experience supporting environmental permitting, reporting, and regulatory inspections strongly preferred.
  • Experience with hazardous materials/chemical safety management.
  • Proven ability to lead incident investigations, identify root cause(s), and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to engage employees at all levels and build effective working relationships.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical requirements into practical guidance.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, including the ability to interpret regulations and apply sound, practical solutions.
