This position is responsible for designing, documenting, analyzing, testing, and collaborating across functions to implement advanced technologies in gas purification systems. This position will report to the Manager, Product Development Engineering.\nIn this role, the Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer will provide experienced mechanical and system-level engineering support across new product development, product transfer, qualification, production readiness and continuous improvement activities.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nCreate and refine mechanical components, assemblies, and sub-systems for UHP gas purification systems.\nWork cross-functionally to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, controls, software, and other subsystems for complete system integration.\nOwn the sizing and selection of mechanical components to meet system performance, safety, reliability, manufacturability, and compliance requirements.\nApply system-level understanding of architecture, P&IDs, gas flow paths, component functions, operating sequences, and subsystem interfaces to guide design decisions and issue resolution.\nDevelop, review, and maintain solid models, engineering drawings, design specifications, BOMs, procedures, and other technical documentation required for product development and manufacturing release.\nConduct and document engineering calculations, simulations, and technical analyses to evaluate system performance, reliability, and technical feasibility.\nPlan and support rigorous testing, validation, qualification, FAT, STP, commissioning, and production build activities to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with applicable standards.\nLead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex mechanical, process, test, and system-integration issues, and drive corrective actions to closure.\nAnalyze and optimize purification processes to improve performance and efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and minimize environmental impact.\nSupport product transfer and manufacturing readiness, including design-package reviews, BOM structure, routing readiness, documentation-gap closure, first-build support, and production issue resolution.\nPrepare and review detailed technical documentation, including engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, test plans, test reports, build records, engineering summaries, and issue trackers.\nLead or support design reviews, risk assessments, engineering changes, configuration control, drawing updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nStay updated with the latest advancements in gas purification technologies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. \nAny other duties as assigned. \nWhat We Seek:\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.\n5-8 years of experience preferred in mechanical engineering with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3-6 years of relevant engineering experience with a Master’s degree.\nProficiency in SolidWorks CAD software and simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS). \nStrong knowledge of mechanical systems engineering, component design and selection, fluid dynamics, and system integration.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and processes.\nHands-on experience troubleshooting mechanical, process, test, or system integration issues during assembly, testing, or commissioning.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely.\nExperience with SAP ERP systems, especially BOMs, routings and documentation.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office tools.\nAbility to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously and advises and mentor less experienced engineers.\nAbility to prioritize workload, independently manage projects, handle multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines. \nDetail-oriented with strong problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex systems and processes. \nExperience working in a global company with cross-site collaboration.\nA proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and sustainability.\nOutstanding Candidates Will Have:\nTechnical Expertise: Deep understanding of mechanical systems engineering principles and purification technologies, with hands-on experience in design and systems optimization, complemented by advanced analytical and simulation capabilities. Advanced understanding of fluid dynamics. Experience with process simulation software.\nTechnical Leadership: Demonstrated ownership of complex engineering work from concept through validation and manufacturing release, with the ability to guide design decisions and mentor less experienced engineers.\nProduct and Manufacturing Readiness: Experience supporting product transfer, first builds, qualification, FAT, commissioning, supplier coordination, and production issue resolution in a regulated or high-purity equipment environment.\nKey Success Factors:\nDelivers assigned design, analysis, testing, transfer, and implementation work to project commitments.\nProduces accurate, complete, and clear engineering documentation that supports design control, manufacturing, and future reference.\nDemonstrates sound technical ownership by making evidence-based decisions, identifying risks, and driving complex issues to closure.\nDemonstrates effective teamwork and communication with cross functional teams, global engineering groups and stakeholders while developing capabilities of less experienced engineers.\nWhat We Offer:\nAt Entegris, we invest in providing opportunities for our employees and promote from within.
