The Senior Quality Engineer will provide hands-on quality engineering support for assigned products and manufacturing processes, lead structured problem solving, manage product and process risk, drive corrective actions and continuous improvement, and help strengthen the site's overall quality systems and performance.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer who enjoys being close to manufacturing, solving complex problems, working across functions, and moving an organization from reactive problem solving toward proactive quality improvement.\nIn this role, you will\nProvide day-to-day Quality Engineering support for assigned Chaska products, manufacturing areas, and value streams. \nLead and support investigations of internal and customer quality issues, including containment, root-cause analysis, corrective action, effectiveness verification, and closure. \nCoordinate and support Quality Notifications (QNs), material review activities, product disposition, and risk assessments. This will require working cross-functionally with Operations, Customer Service, Materials, Tooling, and other functions as appropriate. \nPartner directly with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify recurring defects and process variation and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions. \nApply structured problem-solving and statistical methods to manufacturing and quality issues, using tools such as FMEA, SPC, capability analysis, Pareto analysis, MSA/Gage R&R, process mapping, and 8D/root-cause methodologies. \nSupport customer complaint investigations and help develop technically sound, timely responses and corrective-action packages. \nParticipate in and support customer, internal, and quality-system audits. \nSupport change management activities, including risk assessment, manufacturing change reviews, validation and qualification activities, and quality documentation. \nDevelop, review, and maintain quality-related documentation such as inspection methods, control plans, risk assessments, specifications, and other process-control documentation. \nSupport new product introduction and product/process changes through FMEAs, control plans, measurement strategies, validation/qualification activities, and data analysis. \nUse manufacturing and quality data to identify adverse trends and proactively drive improvements in product quality, process capability, defect reduction, and customer performance. \nWork with Operations and Engineering to strengthen process controls and prevent defects rather than relying exclusively on inspection or containment. \nParticipate in continuous-improvement activities and cross-functional projects that improve quality, delivery, cost, and manufacturing effectiveness. \nServe as a technical Quality resource for engineers, technicians, inspectors, manufacturing leaders, and operators. \nMentor less-experienced engineers and help build structured problem-solving capability across the organization. \nTraits we believe make a strong candidate\nDemonstrated ability to independently lead complex quality investigations from initial containment through sustainable corrective action. \nStrong analytical and structured problem-solving skills. \nComfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor and collaborating with operators, technicians, engineers, and leadership. \nAbility to balance urgent production/customer needs with longer-term systemic improvements. \nStrong technical judgment and an ability to make risk-based decisions using data. \nEffective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical quality issues to different audiences. \nStrong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to influence without relying solely on formal authority. \nA proactive mindset with an interest in preventing defects and improving processes rather than simply responding to failures. \nAbility to manage several priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. \nMinimum qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline. \nApproximately 5 or more years of relevant Quality Engineering or closely related manufacturing engineering experience. \nExperience in a manufacturing environment. \nDemonstrated experience with root-cause analysis, corrective action, risk assessment, and structured problem solving. \nExperience applying core quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, MSA/Gage R&R, control plans, process capability, and statistical analysis. \nExperience working with cross-functional manufacturing and engineering teams. \nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications. \nPreferred qualifications\nExperience in high-purity, semiconductor, medical device, aerospace, automotive, or another technically demanding manufacturing environment. \nExperience with ISO 9001 or a comparable regulated quality-management system. \nExperience with customer complaints, 8D methodology, CAPA, MRB, and change control. \nWorking knowledge of SAP, EtQ or another electronic QMS, Minitab, and Camline or comparable SPC/data-analysis systems. \nExperience supporting manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, machining, assembly, or other polymer/plastics manufacturing processes. \nLean or Six Sigma certification and demonstrated application of continuous-improvement methodologies. \nExperience supporting customer or third-party audits. \nExperience with validation and qualification activities and new-product introduction. \nWhy this role matters\nChaska is a complex manufacturing site serving Entegris' Fluid Handling business and producing components that support products across the company.
