Programs are designed to meet the social, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual needs of our residents.\nJOB DUTIES\nDevelop and implement recreational programs for residents in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing neighborhoods; programs may consist of group, individual, and/or independent activities.\nResponsible for a specific neighborhood and all recreation related tasks for the neighborhood including creating meaningful activity ideas for residents.\nPrepare Activities Calendars.\nCoordinate with the Recreation team on programming.\nOccasionally attend resident care plan meetings.\nWork with volunteers and community organizations on programming.\nMaintain departmental paperwork and documentation.\nAll members of the team are expected to understand and carry out The Home’s policies and procedures for safe care of residents during programs and practice appropriate safety measures to prevent infection, accidents, or injury.\nMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS\nAssociate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.\nMinimum of one (1) year of experience in a therapeutic recreation and/or senior activities role; experience working with persons with dementia is preferred.\nDance/movement experience with a geriatric population strongly preferred. \nPossesses strong communication and organizational skills.\nDemonstrated experience with Zoom, Facetime and/or Skype.\nProficiency with MS Office and technology.\nMust be able to transport residents in wheelchair to in-house activities and drive the facility vehicles to events when needed. \nMust have a driver’s license and a clean driver’s record.\nOTHER QUALIFICATIONS\nPassion to work with seniors and a willingness to learn.\nMust be a cooperative team player, demonstrate initiative in problem solving, and consistently follow through with tasks.\nMust be able to pass the facility’s physical examination upon employment and annually thereafter.\nAbility to understand and comply with applicable Federal, State and local recreation\nRegulations and requirements.\nABOUT THIS POSITION\nThis is a Full-Time (40-Hour) hourly position based at The Actors Fund Home in Englewood, NJ.
