It’sthe curiosity, dedication, and innovation that drive our success and help us anticipatethe future.\nPosition Overview: Entrust is looking for a Mechanical Designer Internship student to join our team for a 6 month experience in Shakopee, MN at our Corporate headquarters.\nJoin Entrust as a co-op student in our Engineering Group.\n\nGain hands-on experience in your focus area of study.\n\nThe Program allows undergraduate students an opportunity to gain experience and develop skills through challenging work assignments that truly add value to the business.\n\nBecome part of an innovative and skilled team of mechanical engineers and designers dedicated to creating systems for the printing and personalization of credit cards, passports, driver's licenses, national IDs, and more. Collaborate on cross-functional teams to develop meaningful products. As a member of the product development team, you will work closely with other engineers and designers to achieve project objectives. The products you help create will incorporate a wide array of printing technologies and various mechanical and electro-mechanical components and processes, such as injection-molded plastic, sheet metal, machining, rubber molding, power transmission, DC motors, lasers, and sensors.\nResponsibilities:\nTechnical problem solving\n\nIdentify and implement continuous improvement opportunities\n\nWork closely with and take work direction from Mechanical Engineers\n\nDevelop solutions for design problems\n\nCreate or modify solid models of parts\n\nCreate and review part drawings\n\nParticipate in design reviews\n\nPrototype and test designs\n\nProvide solutions and recommendations for technical problems\n\nBasic Qualifications\nPursuing an Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Design or equivalent\n\nSolid Modeling experience\n\nMust be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nSolidWorks 3-D Solid Modeling experience\n\nKnowledge with injection-molded, plastic-part design\n\nKnowledge working with mechanical and electromechanical products\n\nKnowledge with sheet metal, machined part design\n\nMechanical aptitude with hands-on skills\n\nStrong interest in product design\n\nDetail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized\n\nAbility to excel in highly-interactive cross-functional team\n\nCommitment to learning and continuous improvement\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\n3.0 GPA or higher\n\nAbout Entrust\nOur growing company relies on curious, dedicated and innovative colleagues to anticipate the future and provide solutions for a more connected, mobile and secure world. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience.
