The team is situated in our fantastic, well-located Cambridge office. We are looking for a senior engineer who can take responsibility for sections of the hardware design with a strong focus on quality, reliability and security to meet the exacting needs of our customers and security certification requirements.\nThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record of working on demanding projects and delivering high quality designs which form a part of complex systems. A demonstrated ability to work with a range of stakeholders from customers, product managers to software teams is essential. Experience working in the design of secure products would be an advantage.\nHardware Engineering at Entrust comprises Electronic Engineering, Digital Design, Mechanical and Thermal Engineering - the full scope of the physical product platform.\n Responsibilities:\ndevelop high quality Hardware Security Modules (HSMs)\n\ncarry out hardware design, prototyping, integration and validation\n\nensure on-going manufacturability, testability and reliability of existing hardware designs\n\nmaintain detailed design documentation, test reports, and bills of materials\n\nwork within an Agile product development framework\n\ndevelop excellent working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders and colleagues\n\nplan work collaboratively with the whole Engineering team\n\nprovide support and direction to less experienced team members\n\ndrive continuous improvement and self-development\n\nQualifications:\nWe are looking for candidates who possess:\na solid understanding of the fundamentals of digital & analogue electronics in product design\n\nthe ability to analyse complex technical problems and offer innovative, reasoned and practical solutions to demanding requirements\n\nThe successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in some of the following technologies:\nelectronic design of embedded systems\n\ndevelopment with 32- or 64-bit processors, high speed interfaces & memory devices\n\nimplementing designs with FPGAs & SoCs\n\nmicrocontroller development and efficient low power design techniques\n\nboard bring-up and verification of inter device interfaces (e.g. signal integrity analysis)\n\ndesign for EMC, safety and regulatory standards\n\nECAD systems - ideally Altium\n\ndesign of security products\n\nThe following skills would also be helpful in the role:\nC or Rust development for microcontrollers\n\nU-boot and Linux platform configuration and builds\n\nVHDL / Verilog\n\nBasic Qualifications:\nDegree qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant technical subject, e.g. Electronic Engineering.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nMasters qualified, or equivalent, in a relevant technical subject, e.g. Electronic Engineering.\nAt Entrust, we don’tjust offer jobs - we offer career journeys.
