It’sthe curiosity, dedication, and innovation that drive our success and help us anticipatethe future.\nPosition Overview: This on-site Software Engineering Co-op position offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working alongside cross-functional engineering teams in a dynamic product development environment. The co-op will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of test automation solutions, execute verification and validation of new products and product enhancements, and help ensure that all solutions meet or exceed product requirements.\nProducts include:\nInstant issuance card solutions for desktop printers, which produce financial and ID cards.\nIntegrated rear module solutions that support card indenting, impressing, and UV curing.\nIntegrated lower module solutions that support card lamination and embossing.\nMaterials and supplies that support the card production process.\nOur solutions incorporate security, software, firmware, electrical, chemical, and mechanical components. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills, collaborate with experienced engineers, and gain real world experience in new product development.\nResponsibilities:\nDesign, develop, and enhance test automation software and solutions.\nExecute verification and validation testing for new products, modules, and enhancements.\nConfigure card printers, software, and systems to align with test environment requirements.\nDocument and track issues in Jira. Isolate issues to the major component level.\nCollaborate with development teams to support root cause analysis and corrective action activities.\nMaintain the test lab, systems, and test environment. \nThis position will take direction from more than one source.\nBasic Qualifications:\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.\nFamiliarity with programing languages such as C#, Python, VB.NET, or similar languages.\nAn understanding of software development principles.\nAn understanding of safety when operating electromechanical system and devices.\nUnderstands logic. Understands dependencies and cause and effect.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with automated testing, scripting, or software development projects through coursework, internships, or personal projects.\nExperience with electromechanical systems, test equipment, and product validation.\nAbility to utilize AI to automate tasks and improve efficiency.\nCompetencies for Success:\nCritical thinking.\nAttention to detail.\nFocused on priorities.\nDrives to a conclusion.\nCan communicate, written and verbal, with cross-functional engineering disciplines in the areas of mechanical, electrical, software, firmware and materials engineers using their respective jargon.\nEngaged in the testing process to suggest opportunities for improvement and the willingness to drive change.\nSchedule/date driven. An understanding and appreciation for sense of urgency especially towards the latter part of a release cycle.\nCan manage issues or barriers and looks for ways to make progress.\nSelf-aware; attends to gaps in skills and competencies. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, education, skills and experience.
