Our expertise includes all aspects of Transmission, Substation and Distribution systems for voltages ranging from 4160V to 500kV.\nOpportunity:\nENTRUST Canada is currently seeking a SCADA Engineer/Engineer-in-Training to join our team. Our team delivers specifications and designs for SCADA and communications systems at the site level (and integration with Telecommunication systems) and configures and commissions SCADA and communications systems on site for our customers. The ability to complete site execution is a critical portion of the job, but this work is fairly balanced with design and configuration work in the office.\n Responsibilities:\nDevelop SCADA system designs - communication architectures, input/output schematics, point assignments\nReview electrical drawings to interpret for signal lists and develop SCADA graphics\nDevelop custom graphical interface with SCADA applications\nConfigure RTUs and various automation controllers\nIntegrate SCADA systems to substation devices - relays, DFR, meters, etc\nSetup substation IEDs for SCADA\nIntegrate SCADA systems to various devices utilizing various SCADA protocols\nCreate protocol databases using industrial protocols (ie IEC61850, DNP3, MODBUS, OPC)\nPoint to point testing and commissioning of SCADA systems\nDevelop SAT and FAT test plans\nSetup and configure and troubleshoot secure and reliable ethernet networks on site.\nBecome knowledgeable with various client and industry standards.\nMust be willing to travel to site for the integration and commissioning of SCADA systems as this is crucial to the learning process.\n Qualifications:\nBachelor’s Degree in computer/electrical/software engineering or Diploma in Software Development. Canadian Professional Engineering Designation by accredited association\nMinimum 2 years of experience in Utility or Power Systems SCADA or in Industrial Automation.\nFluent with computers and operating systems.\nUnderstanding of computer networking and firewall/routing requirements\nExperience with python, C, VB or other scripting languages is optimal but not required\nIdeal candidate will have a strong understanding of SCADA systems integration\nPossess strong written and oral communication skills.\nPossess strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.\nAdvanced problem-solving skills.\nExperience with any of the following would be considered an asset:\nField level system integration, troubleshooting and commissioning\nFamiliar with Inductive Automation Ignition platform.\nProtocols such as DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, OPC\nHigh voltage experience for electric utilities, renewables and oil and gas.\nEthernet and IP networks, and serial communication.\nMicrosoft Excel including custom macros.\nPower systems knowledge.\nVendor knowledge for any of GE Energy/Harris, Cooper Power Systems, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, SUBNET Solutions, ABB, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Belden, and Trihedral (VTScada).\nCommunication troubleshooting software such as WireShark.\nExperienced with field level system integration, troubleshooting and commissioning\nWhy ENTRUST Canada?\nIndustry Leaders - With some of the most experienced and innovative design teams in the industry, we offer an opportunity to work alongside and learn from some of the best in the business.\nDiverse Experience - With expertise in the three main areas of electric power delivery (Distribution, Transmission, Substation), ENTRUST Canada offers unique opportunities for individuals to develop multiple skill sets in the different disciplines.\nWork culture - ENTRUST Canada offers a collaborative atmosphere and promotes social activities in the workplace.
