As a Senior Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in designing the infrastructure that keeps the grid strong, smart, and ready for tomorrow.\nWhat You’ll Do\nAs a Senior Design Engineer in our Electric Programs group, you’ll bring your technical expertise and collaborative spirit to a wide range of electric distribution projects. You’ll work independently on familiar tasks and receive guidance on new or complex challenges, all while contributing to a team that values quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.\nHere’s how you’ll make an impact:\nDesign & Technical Execution\nApply your engineering knowledge to develop and refine electric distribution designs that meet client specifications, safety codes, and industry standards.\nSupport the preparation of simple to moderately complex designs, including calculations, drawings, and documentation.\nLead the design development for smaller projects and assist on more complex efforts, including technical analyses and design coordination.\nCollaboration & Communication\nWork closely with Designers and Drafters to complete comprehensive design packages.\nShare information and ask thoughtful questions to understand project requirements and design nuances.\nCommunicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, clients, and vendors-raising concerns related to scope, cost, schedule, or quality as needed.\nProject & Quality Leadership\nEnsure all work products follow ENTRUST and client procedures, including quality control, document control, and procurement standards.\nSelf-check your work for accuracy and completeness before submitting for review.\nParticipate in peer reviews and quality control processes to uphold high standards across the team.\nTeam Support & Mentorship\nAssist the Design Coordinator in evaluating design personnel and assigning tasks to Designers and Drafters.\nProvide guidance and support to junior team members, helping them grow while ensuring project success.\nClient Engagement\nInteract independently with clients and vendors, representing ENTRUST with professionalism and technical insight.\nConduct field visits and support fielding activities as needed to ensure design accuracy and alignment with real-world conditions.\nWhat You Bring\nWe’re looking for someone who’s technically skilled, detail-oriented, and passionate about powering communities through smart, sustainable design.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university.\nAt least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in electric distribution, other utilities, or other relevant engineering design projects\n\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nKnowledge of BOUD and Maximo\nKnowledge of Computer-Aided Design (CAD), distribution design software and GIS design tools.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of ArcGIS.\nAbility to read, understand, and follow both client and ENTRUST data standards and practices.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.\nAbility to prioritize tasks, plan daily activities, and adapt to new situations.\nStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.\nWhy Join Us?\nInnovative Projects:Work on cutting-edge projects that make a real impact.\nCareer Growth:Enjoy opportunities for professional development and career advancement.\nInclusive Culture:Be part of a diverse and inclusive team that values your unique contributions.\nWhy Join Us?\nAt ENTRUST Solutions Group, a Leidos company, we are driven by a commitment to innovation, technical excellence, and delivering the critical infrastructure that powers and connects communities.
