This role requires a reliable individual with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and adherence to safety protocols. The successful candidate will ensure that all collections are performed efficiently and in accordance with legal and company guidelines.\nKey Responsibilities\n\nDriving and Collection:\nOperate company vehicles to collect WEEE waste from various commercial, industrial, HRW Sites and residential locations nationwide.\nFollow planned routes and schedules provided by the operations team.\nEnsure safe loading, securing, and unloading of WEEE waste to avoid damage and maintain compliance with safety standards.\nPerform daily vehicle inspections and ensure the vehicle is in good working order before beginning the route.\n\nLoading and Unloading:\nManually or mechanically load and unload WEEE waste, ensuring all items are handled safely and efficiently.\nUse appropriate handling equipment such as trolleys, pallet trucks, and tail lifts to assist with loading/unloading operations.\nSort and segregate WEEE waste as necessary to comply with recycling and disposal regulations.\n\nCompliance and Safety:\nAdhere to all legal requirements concerning the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous WEEE waste.\nMaintain a high standard of health and safety practices, ensuring the safety of yourself, colleagues, and the public.\nComplete all necessary paperwork, including waste transfer notes and vehicle logbooks, accurately and promptly.\n\nCustomer Service:\nInteract professionally and courteously with customers at collection points.\nAddress any customer queries or concerns in a helpful manner, escalating issues to management if necessary.\nEnsure timely collections and inform the operations team of any delays or issues encountered on the route.\n\nOperational Efficiency:\nCollaborate with the operations team to optimise routes and improve collection efficiency.\nMonitor and report any operational issues, such as vehicle defects or route challenges, to the relevant department for resolution.\nParticipate in training and development programs to enhance skills and stay up to date with industry standards.\n\nThis is not an exhaustive list. You may also be required to carry out any other duties as required by the business that you are qualified/trained in that meet the requirements of this role\nJob Requirements:\nFull-time role based in Perth.\n41.15 hours per week (Monday to Friday)\nWork environment is predominantly in a warehouse or processing facility.\nRegular exposure to noise, dust, and heavy machinery.\nPersonal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn.\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\nQualifications\nFull Class 1 and 2 driving licence\nValid DCPC\nValid Digital Tachograph\nTechnical Competencies\nAble to competently and safely operate assigned vehicles\nBehavioural Competencies\nEssential\n\nWillingness to perform a wide range of duties, whilst maintaining a high level of professionalism\nExcellent communication skills\nStrong organizational skills with attention to detail\nDesirable\nA strong commitment to environmental responsibility.\nDependable, with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.\nFlexible approach to working hours, with the ability to work overtime or weekends as required.\nExperience\n\nPrevious experience in waste collection, logistics, or a related field is desirable.\nKnowledge of WEEE waste regulations and handling procedures is an advantage.\n Physical Demands\nGood physical fitness and the ability to handle heavy loads.
