By offering anytime, anywhere access to analytics and insights, we’re helping our customers make better decisions that help provide communities around the world with clean, affordable energy.\nThe energy industry is changing fast. But we’ve continued to lead the way in energy technology, creating intelligent connections across the entire energy ecosystem, from renewables, power and utilities, to oil and gas and financial institutions. Our solutions create more efficient production and distribution, capital allocation, renewable energy development, investment and sourcing, and help reduce costs by automating crucial business operations. Of course, this wouldn’t be possible without our people, which is why we have built a team of individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds.\nAre you ready to help power the global quality of life? Join Enverus, and be a part of creating a brighter, more sustainable tomorrow.\nThe role\nYou'll be a senior member of the Subsurface Innovation team, focused on CCUS and geothermal - two emerging subsurface technologies where industry benchmarks are still being established. As the team's coverage grows, it may extend into adjacent plays such as natural hydrogen, helium, or direct lithium extraction (DLE).\nMost client questions land on the same three axes: does the resource actually support the story, do the economics hold up once you strip out the hype, and what does the policy and tax-credit landscape mean for a project's returns. You'll be the person clients and the business turn to for a straight answer, and you'll be a major contributor to shaping what the team researches. \nYou'll also be a coach and mentor to the associates and analysts working alongside you - sharpening their thinking on a model or a client narrative, and helping them take on more independent, senior work over time. \nEnverus is an AI-first company. You're expected to use AI to raise the quality and cadence of your own work, and to help the people around you build that same habit. \nThis role is based at our Calgary office, with hybrid work available and regular in-office presence expected. \nExamples of what you'll be doing\nBuild out or review an economic model for a CCUS project, pressure-testing the credit and incentive assumptions before it goes in front of a client. \nLead a call with an institutional investor who wants a senior, straight-talk read on how two geothermal projects' resource assumptions compare. \nWork through a sticking point in an analyst's geothermal LCOE model with them - sharpening an assumption that's likely to draw pushback from a client. \nContribute to setting the quarter's research priorities alongside your Team Lead, balancing base research, ad hoc client requests, and room to go deep on something interesting. \nSit in on a product team sync to advocate for a dataset the team needs, and bring back what's realistic for the next release. \nWho thrives on this team\nYou're comfortable being the one testing the assumptions behind a hyped technology, even when it means telling a client that the story doesn't hold up. \nYou get real satisfaction out of helping a newer analyst get better, not just being the smartest person in the room yourself. \nYou're curious enough to have gone deep on subsurface technologies where the playbook doesn't exist yet, and energized rather than paralyzed by that. \nYou take the work seriously, not yourself. \nWhat you'll own\nCoverage & expertise. Become an expert on Subsurface Innovation topics; take on almost any technical problem in that space with confidence. \nIndependent research delivery. Identify and execute research initiatives with little to no direction, from economic model build through to published note. \nClient relationships. Comfortably assume a primary role on client and prospect calls, presenting Intelligence results and leading discussions. \nMentorship. Help train and mentor associates and analysts on technical concepts, Prism™ workflows, research writing, and client-delivery skills. \nTeam priorities. Have a real voice in what the team researches and why, and help shape how work gets prioritized as the coverage area grows. \nProduct development. Represent the team's needs to the product group and help shape the datasets and workflows that support the coverage area.\nPublication ownership. Take accountability in the publication process - setting realistic deadlines and communicating openly when priorities shift. \nMust-haves\n5-8 years of relevant industry or research experience, with a focus on subsurface technologies. Experience with CCUS and/or geothermal is a plus. \nUndergraduate degree in geoscience, engineering, finance, accounting, mathematics, economics, environmental science, or public policy. \nSome experience mentoring, coaching, or informally leading others - we're looking for evidence you've already started developing that muscle. \nDemonstrated ability to build and defend economic models under scrutiny - you can walk a skeptical institutional investor through your assumptions line by line. \nComfort leading client and prospect calls and the relationship-building that comes with it. \nAdvanced Excel skills; comfort with data tools (Python, SQL, Power BI, or Spotfire) and AI tools is a strong plus. \nHelpful, but not required\nExposure to adjacent subsurface plays, such as natural hydrogen, helium, or direct lithium extraction (DLE). \nPrior mentorship or informal team-lead experience. \nDirect experience with carbon-market or tax-credit policy relevant to CCUS or geothermal, in the US or Canada. \nProfessional designation (P.Eng., P.Geo., CFA, MBA). \nExisting relationships with institutional investors, E&P companies, or subsurface technology developers. \nAbout Enverus & this team \nEnverus is the leading energy SaaS company delivering highly technical insights and predictive/prescriptive analytics that empower customers to make decisions that increase profit. We are a strategic partner to more than 6,000 customers in 50 countries, delivering business-critical insights to the global energy industry through a state-of-the-art SaaS platform built on industry-leading data and analytics. \nOur Subsurface Innovation team publishes investment research on CCUS and geothermal - subsurface technologies developing alongside traditional oil and gas - for institutional investors, E&P companies, and other energy participants navigating these fast-moving, benchmark-less markets.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6819,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"master","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Hybrid work"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"Canada","iso":"CA","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Data Providers & Datasets","Oil & Gas"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-01T21:58:50Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":90,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.903,"p_room":1,"age_days":1,"expected_fill_days":25,"reasons":["conf:2","velocity","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-03T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/enverus-senior-analyst","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/enverus-senior-analyst.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-04T02:04:49Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":2873,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":2127,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-05T00:00:00Z"}}}
