Headquartered in Boston, Veolia has more than 10,000 employees working at more than 350 locations across North America.\n Under the guidance of the Outbound Manager, the Receiving Supervisor will oversee receiving operations, plan office production, and act as a technical resource for the team. The Receiving Supervisor will review inbound waste streams. The Receiving Supervisor ensures that all incoming waste is accurately entered into the inventory tracking system for proper management, disposal, and billing. Utilizing their strong leadership skills, the Receiving Supervisor will ensure their staff input all waste in compliance with Clean Earth’s policy and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The Receiving Supervisor will coordinate regularly with Plant management to ensure safe, proper, and consistent handling of all inbound waste.\nPrimary Responsibilities (Essential Functions\nInbound\nManage inbound waste from service centers and other waste sources, ensuring efficient and compliant operations. \nProvide insights on waste entering inventory that requires lab testing. \nKeep informed about updates in lab testing regulations and industry standards. \nAccept waste for processing, ensuring it meets company standards and regulatory requirements. \nMaintains proper documentation and manifests for waste entering facility according to State and Federal requirements. \nOutbound\nOffer expertise on outbound shipping strategies and methods, providing recommendations for improvement. \nPlant Management\nDirect, coach, and develop employees, ensuring they meet operational needs and compliance with company policies. \nReview Weekly and Monthly Production summaries. \nKeep informed about updates in supply management regulations and industry standards. \nImplement safety protocols and compliance measures to ensure operational efficiency and regulatory adherence. \nStay updated on changes in cost management regulations and industry standards and provide recommendations for improvement. \nPerforms other related duties and/or project work as required or requested.\nWork Environment:\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.\nAbility to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance and up to 75 pounds unassisted on occasion.\nAbility to push and pull up to 500 pounds using a pallet jack, hand truck, or other device to assist.\nAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled environments.\nVisual acuity to read labels and documentation and sufficient depth perception to safely operate forklifts.\nAbility to hear vehicle warning chimes, alarms, and other audible safety signals.\nAbility and willingness to wear company-issued personal protection equipment (PPE), including, but not limited to, safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed boots, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator. \nAbility to work overtime hours as needed based on business needs.\nWillingness and ability to travel via automobile, commercial airline and other public transportation as needed 10% or less of the time. \n Education: (BA or BS degree required or preferred)High school diploma or GED\nBachelor’s degree in an environmental-related field preferred or equivalent work experience\n\n Experience: (Required minimum of years of relevant experience.) 40-hour HAZWOPER training completed and current or ability to obtain\n2+ years of progressive environmental/hazardous waste management experience working in an operations capacity in receiving waste or materials management\nExperience in the hazardous waste industry and general knowledge of RCRA and Department of Transportation (DoT) regulations as it relates to the transportation and processing of waste is preferred\nExperience in team building and collaboration\nExperience with employee engagement strategies and practices\n\nSkills: (The skills listed are the abilities and knowledge required to perform the job effectively .)Understanding of waste profiling and tracking related to acceptance into inventory.\nAble to implement and communicate continual improvement of productivity standards and team member safety in all phases of the operation in accordance with financial goals\nKnowledge of regulatory requirements related to waste management preferred\nUnderstanding of safety, lockout/tagout, and compliance protocols preferred\nAbility to analyze, draw conclusions and develop actionable improvements from complex data\nUnderstanding of data science methodologies and tools\nAttention to detail in work tasks and documentation\nAbility to lead and manage a team and delegate effectively\nBasic proficiency in basic computer skills and software applications preferred\n\n This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
