About the Opportunity:
We are partnering with a premier, global technology infrastructure provider to find a specialized Network Infrastructure Engineer (Space, Power & Fiber Design). This is a unique hybrid role acting as the critical engineering bridge between core Network Architecture and Physical Data Centre Facilities/Construction teams.
Instead of configuring software firewalls, this individual will own the end-to-end physical delivery footprint—ensuring global routing, switching, and optical transport platforms have the exact space, power density, structural cabling, and cooling systems required to operate with zero downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent network infrastructure deployment and structural design blueprints across global, high-availability data centre environments.
- Partner cross-functionally with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) engineers, construction crews, and architects to integrate power, space, and thermal cooling requirements.
- Perform physical site administration, construction walks, and Factory/Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) to validate builds against global architectural standards.
- Drive workflow optimization initiatives utilizing data center automation, scripting, and emerging AI design tooling.
- Support commissioning, infrastructure provisioning, and final operational handoff to live maintenance teams.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: 5–7+ years of dedicated experience designing or deploying physical data center connectivity and hardware environments.
- Cabling & Transport: Robust knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optic systems, transceivers, and optical transport networks (DWDM/OTN).
- Facilities & Utility Intelligence: Strong working knowledge of fault-tolerant power systems (UPS, generators, distributions) and mechanical cooling containment setups.
- Systems & Software: Familiarity with design and monitoring platforms such as AutoDesk (AutoCAD/Revit), DCIM systems, or Industrial Control Systems (BMS/SCADA).
- Automation Mindset: Experience or comfort utilizing scripting languages (Python, Bash, or PowerShell) to drive workflow efficiencies.
- Education & Credentials: A degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent infrastructure field experience. Data center certifications (e.g., CDCP, RCDD) or safety frameworks (OSHA/NFPA) are highly advantageous.
