King & Spalding is a leading global law firm with a commitment to excellence, innovation, and the seamless delivery of legal services. We harness innovative technology and exceptional talent to meet the complex needs of our clients in a fast-paced and dynamic legal landscape.

We are looking for a Docketing Coordinator to join the Firm as a risk-management and litigation-operations resource. The role supports attorneys across practice groups by helping ensure timely, accurate, and compliant filings; consistent litigation workflow; and adherence to court and agency requirements and deadlines. The position reports to the Associate Director of Docketing and the Director of Practice Management. The role supports the Dallas lawyers and matters, with flexibility to assist other offices as operational needs require.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support litigation workflows across practice groups by reviewing, processing, and coordinating litigation-related documents.
  • Prepare routine notices and complete standard court and agency forms using approved templates and procedures.
  • Coordinate and execute service of documents, including service of process, and maintain related records.
  • Complete e-filing across jurisdictions and coordinate in-person/physical filings where required.
  • Communicate with court clerks and court staff as needed to facilitate filings, obtain procedural information, and resolve administrative issues.
  • Request apostilles and certifications; obtain court documents, orders, and filed-stamped copies from courts and agencies.
  • Help maintain attorney e-filing accounts and related system requirements (credentials, registration updates, and access needs).
  • Provide procedural support for attorney appearances, including pro hac vice admissions.
  • Partner with paralegals and Legal Practice Assistants to coordinate litigation and administrative tasks across practice groups.
  • Support attorney onboarding/offboarding related to litigation systems and procedural compliance (documentation, access, and process guidance).
  • Docket court dates and deadlines in the firm’s docketing system and support deadline tracking as part of the Firm’s risk-management function.
  • Apply working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure and applicable local rules to promote accurate, timely, and compliant litigation operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree preferred; high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of experience in litigation support, court filings, and service processes (law firm or legal department environment preferred).
  • Working knowledge of federal and Texas state court procedures, including FRCP and local rules.
  • Strong attention to detail; ability to manage deadlines and maintain accurate records in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with attorneys, staff, and court personnel.
  • Ability to work across multiple practice groups and shift priorities based on operational needs.
  • Proficiency with e-filing systems and docketing workflows; ability to learn firm systems quickly.

The firm offers a generous total compensation package with bonuses and raises awarded in recognition of individual merit-based performance. All full-time Business Services employees may participate in King & Spalding’s comprehensive benefit program including health and wellness plan, life and disability insurance, flexible spending accounts and a health savings account, a 401(k) plan, profit sharing plan, and a substantial Paid Time Off (PTO) program.
