Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, this position performs a variety of duties to assist attorneys on the Business Litigation team. This position will report directly to the Director of Administration.RESPONSIBILITIES:\nComplete understanding of the litigation process, especially large case management; manage all facets of matters from discovery through trial.\nAssist with electronic document productions using database management software. \nAssist with document reviews for responsiveness; identify privileged documents, documents for redaction, and case issues in context.\nManaging documents, exhibits, notebooks, and spreadsheets in court trials and arbitration proceedings. \nUtilize litigation applications/software, such as Relativity. \nStrong multitasking skills working on multiple matters at the same time with several different lawyers and other staff. \nInteract effectively and professionally with all levels of personnel, including attorneys and other paralegals and assistants, sharing information, goals, and opportunities accordingly. \nInteract with clients as necessary to gather necessary documentation and information for agency or court filings.\nAssist in deposition/interview/hearing preparation, document review, productions, and case preparation at/for trial/arbitration as needed.\nObserve confidentiality of client matters at all times.\nGeneral support of attorneys and other business professionals across all offices and practice groups as business needs arise.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree. \nA minimum of 5 years of paralegal experience.\nHighly organized, detail-oriented, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nFamiliarity with the litigation process (i.e. case management, discovery, databases, privilege logs, court filings, e-filing, cite checking, Shepardizing, and Bluebooking).\nExperience in preparing for and attending onsite trials and arbitrations.\nThe ability to work both independently and collaboratively.\nMust be a flexible, proactive, self-starter, to respond quickly and positively to shifting demands and timelines; ability to work under tight deadlines on detailed tasks. \nMust pay attention to details and follow up and follow through. \nMust have good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word and related computer skills. \nProficient in Adobe Acrobat.\nThe ability to work overtime, including on some weekends and holidays with little to no advance notice.\nThe firm offers a generous total compensation package with bonuses and raises awarded in recognition of individual merit-based performance.
