As the organization continues to grow through acquisitions, this position will be instrumental in integrating newly acquired companies into standardized financial processes, systems, and reporting structures.\nReporting directly to the Controller, the Assistant Controller will partner with finance and operational leaders to improve accounting processes, implement best practices, and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting across a multi-company environment. This role requires a patient, collaborative leader with excellent communication skills who can effectively guide teams through change while maintaining strong internal controls and financial integrity.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the Controller in managing the day-to-day accounting operations for a growing multi-company organization.\nLead the accounting integration of newly acquired companies, including onboarding financial processes, chart of accounts alignment, system conversions, and standardized reporting.\nAssisting implementing and improving accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls to support continued organizational growth.\nDrive process standardization across all business units while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.\nPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.\nCoordinate month-end and year-end close activities across multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.\nAssist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and financial performance reporting.\nEnsure compliance with company policies, internal controls, regulatory requirements, tax filings, and external audits.\nPartner with operations, human resources, payroll, and other departments to improve communication and financial processes across the organization.\nTrain, mentor, and support accounting staff while helping newly integrated teams adopt company policies and procedures.\nDevelop documentation for accounting policies, procedures, and best practices to promote consistency throughout the organization.\nAssist the Controller with strategic initiatives, acquisitions, ERP implementations, and other special projects.\nSkills & Competencies\nStrong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.\nExceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.\nProven ability to lead change and support business integrations in a growing organization.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.\nPatient, collaborative leadership style with a focus on coaching, relationship building, and continuous improvement.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify process improvements and implement practical solutions.\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nAbility to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities evolve as the business grows.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, ora related field.\nCPA Certification\n3 - 5 years of experience in public accounting.\nStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.\nExperience with month-end and year-end close processes.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting/ERP systems.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across multiple business units.\nHands-on corporate accounting experience required, including general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and preparation or review of financial statements.\nCandidates coming from public accounting or audit must also have direct, hands-on experience performing corporate accounting functions.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting acquisitions, business integrations, or multi-entity organizations.\nExperience leading ERP implementations or financial system conversions (NetSuite preferred).\nManufacturing, distribution, construction, or industrial industry experience preferred.\nSupervisory or leadership experience within an accounting department.\nExperience developing standardized accounting policies and procedures.\nExperience working in a multi-entity, multi-location, or similarly complex accounting environment strongly preferred.\nBroad accounting experience required; candidates whose experience is limited primarily to cost accounting may not meet the requirements of this position.\nExperience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system is strongly preferred.\nReporting Relationship\nThis position reports directly to the Controller and works closely with finance leadership, business unit managers, and cross-functional teams to support the company's continued growth through acquisition, integration, and operational excellence.\nSchedule Expectations\nFull-time position (Exempt)\nOnsite: Four (4) days per week at our West Bridgewater office\nRemote: One (1) remote workday per week, available after the successful completion of the training and onboarding period\nSkills:\nThe Assistant Controller utilizes strong analytical and organizational skills daily to ensure accurate financial data management and reporting. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel enables efficient handling of complex financial transactions and data analysis.
