You'll own projects from initial requirements through deployment and ongoing support, working directly with project managers, engineers, and company leadership.\n\nWe're looking for someone who enjoys building real solutions, solving complex problems, and turning emerging AI technologies into reliable business tools.\n\nExamples of Projects You'll Work On\n\nEstimating & Budgeting Tools: Build internal applications that combine rate tables, expenses, and target margins to generate project budgets that managers can adjust, evaluate, and compare.\n\nStaff-Matching Assistant: Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems that analyze employee resumes and requests for proposals (RFPs), recommending qualified staff with citations to supporting source materials.\n\nProposal Drafting Support: Deploy privately hosted language models that generate initial proposal drafts using RFPs, previous company proposals, and employee qualifications.\n\nDocument & Field-Report Intelligence: Develop pipelines that ingest, classify, and index technical reports, field notes, and project records, making company information organized, searchable, and accessible.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nAI Development\n\nDesign, evaluate, deploy, and maintain self-hosted language and embedding models for internal business applications.\n\nBuild RAG pipelines incorporating document parsing, chunking, vector search, reranking, prompt design, and source citations.\n\nDevelop evaluation methods to measure model accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement.\n\nMonitor deployed AI systems for performance, quality, cost, and failures.\n\nData Management\n\nBuild and automate data pipelines that convert PDFs, scanned reports, spreadsheets, and forms into structured, searchable information.\n\nDesign data schemas, metadata standards, and access controls for company documents and project records.\n\nExtract and organize structured information from complex, unstructured technical documents.\n\nBackend Development & Infrastructure\n\nDevelop and maintain APIs and backend services supporting internal applications across cloud and on-premises environments.\n\nManage databases, job queues, authentication, logging, and application deployment.\n\nImplement security controls appropriate for confidential company and client information.\n\nInternal Applications Development\n\nWork directly with employees and leadership to gather requirements and develop practical, user-friendly applications.\n\nDesign intuitive interfaces that integrate AI services into everyday business workflows.\n\nTrain employees on new applications and provide ongoing technical support.\n\nMaintain clear technical documentation to support future enhancements and maintenance.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.\n\nDemonstrated experience building and deploying production AI/ML systems, not just prototypes or proof-of-concept applications.\n\nStrong Python programming skills and hands-on experience with LLM and RAG technologies, including embeddings, vector databases, and open-weight model serving.\n\nExperience designing and automating data pipelines using AWS or another major cloud platform.\n\nBackend development experience with REST APIs, relational databases, and containerized deployments.\n\nAbility to explain technical concepts, solutions, and tradeoffs clearly to non-technical employees and leadership.\n\nStrong problem-solving, organizational, and project ownership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.\n\nMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored visa sponsorship.
