We are the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.\nJob Purpose\n\nAs a critical member of the Finance Team, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for key corporate accounting and reporting deliverables, proper treatment and reconciliation of inter-company transactions, as well as various functional roles within the accounting department. \n\nResponsibilities\n\nGL/Journal Entries/Intercompany/Customer AR \n· Preparation and review of journal entries and associated documents as part of the corporate monthly financial close. \n· Monitors and reconciles intercompany transactions and related activities. \n· Prepares and reviews balance sheet account reconciliations monthly. \n· Works with other Enviva teams (Operations Accounting, Project Accounting, IT, Legal, etc..) to understand all transactions and events each period. \n· Interfaces with Enviva external auditors to support the annual financial audit.\n· Supports OSS customer invoicing and cash collection process as necessary.\n· Contributes to Corporate projects and initiatives as assigned\n Internal Financial Reporting \n· Compiles monthly financial reporting and analysis as it relates to company performance and results. \n· Communicates results and details of critical activity to financial planning and analysis team and commercial sales team. \n· Involved in cash management through working with Treasury team in helping to forecast cash flows \n Process and Internal Controls\n· Constantly works to improve pre-existing processes. Develops new processes and procedures to be implemented in a fast-growing environment. \n· Ensure compliance with Enviva’s internal control structure over financial reporting. \n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.\n· 3-6 years of relevant accounting or finance experience required.\n· Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.\n· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.\n· Strong verbal and written communication skills.\n· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively across multiple functions and levels of the organization.\n· Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.\n· Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with limited direction.\n· Strong organizational and time-management skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications - What Will Set Them Apart\n\n· CPA or progress toward CPA certification preferred.\n· Previous public accounting experience preferred.\n· Experience with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.\n· Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and general accounting principles.\n· Experience preparing and reviewing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.\n· Experience with intercompany accounting and financial reporting.\n· Experience working with external auditors and supporting financial audits.\n· Experience working within a publicly traded company or other complex corporate accounting environment preferred.\n· Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyze and reconcile large data sets.\n· Experience with enterprise accounting/ERP systems preferred.\n· Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and strengthen accounting procedures and internal controls.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\n· Primarily performed in a professional office environment.\n· Prolonged periods of working at a computer and using standard office equipment.\n· May require additional working hours during month-end, quarter-end, year-end close, audits, or other periods of increased business activity.\n· Must be able to work effectively in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\n· Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods while performing computer-based work.\n· Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers and other electronic devices.\n· Ability to communicate effectively with employees and business partners in person and through virtual communication platforms.\n· Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.\n\nTravel Requirements\n\n· Limited travel may be required based on business needs.\n\nThis position is not eligible for visa support.\nEEO Statement \nEnviva is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity (EEO) in any term, condition or privilege of employment.
