We are the world’s largest producer of sustainable wood pellets, which provide a low-carbon alternative to fossil fuels.\nJob Purpose\nPosition Summary\nThe Senior Operational Technology (OT) Engineer is responsible for the design, administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the company’s industrial control systems, manufacturing data infrastructure, virtualization environment, and OT network architecture. This role serves as the technical lead for FactoryTalk applications, production data collection systems, historian architecture, industrial databases, visualization platforms, and OT cybersecurity initiatives. The ideal candidate possesses deep experience with Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk products, industrial networking, virtualization technologies, and manufacturing execution systems. This individual will support multiple facilities while ensuring secure, reliable, and highly available operational technology systems.\nEssential Responsibilities\nIndustrial Control & Data Systems\n· Administer and support the Rockwell FactoryTalk software suite including:\nFactoryTalk View SE\nFactoryTalk Historian\nFactoryTalk AssetCentre\nDesign, implement, and maintain plant-wide data collection systems. \nManage historian infrastructure used to collect, store, and analyze manufacturing process data.\nDevelop and maintain interfaces between FactoryTalk Historian, Microsoft SQL Server, other OT applications and PARCview\nSupport dataPARC ParcView configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.\nImprove data integrity, system performance, and reporting capabilities across all facilities.\nSupport manual and automated production data collection processes.\nDatabase Administration \nSupport and maintain Microsoft SQL Server.\nDevelop SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and reporting datasets.\nMonitor database performance and implement optimization strategies.\nEnsure data backup, recovery, and retention requirements are met.\nVirtualization & Server Infrastructure \nAdminister VMware environments including:\nESXi Hosts\nvCenter\nVirtual Machine deployment and maintenance\nStorage management\nBackup and disaster recovery solutions\nBuild, maintain, and upgrade OT virtual infrastructure.\nSupport Windows Server operating systems and lifecycle management.\nManage OT server patching, upgrades, and security remediation activities. \nOT Networking & Cybersecurity\nDesign, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial network infrastructure.\nConfigure and support:\nCisco switches\nCisco routing technologies\nVLANs\nFiber optic networks\nIndustrial Ethernet architectures\nAdminister Fortinet firewalls and security appliances.\nAdminister and maintain SolarWinds monitoring infrastructure for operational technology networks and systems.\nConfigure, manage, and optimize SNMP monitoring across network infrastructure, servers, virtual environments, and OT applications.\nDevelop and maintain custom alerts, thresholds, and notification workflows to ensure rapid identification and resolution of system issues.\nImplement OT cybersecurity best practices and network segmentation strategies. · Maintain secure communications between IT and OT systems.\nParticipate in cybersecurity assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.\nAsset Management & Change Control \nMaintain FactoryTalk AssetCentre backups and change management processes.\nEnsure proper version control of PLC, HMI, and SCADA applications.\nSupport Management of Change (MOC) procedures.\nOperational Support \nProvide advanced troubleshooting support for production impacting issues.\nWork closely with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, and IT teams.\nLead OT system upgrades, migrations, and capital projects.\nDevelop standards and best practices for OT infrastructure across all facilities. \nRequired Qualifications \nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.\nEquivalent industry experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. \n 5+ years of experience supporting Operational Technology systems in a manufacturing environment.\nAdvanced experience with:\nFactoryTalk View SE\nFactoryTalk Historian\nFactoryTalk AssetCentre\nMicrosoft SQL Server\nVMware vSphere/vCenter \nCisco networking technologies\nFortinet firewall administration\nExperience with SCADA, HMI, historian, and industrial data systems.\nStrong understanding of industrial Ethernet and network design principles.\nExperience administering and supporting SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM) and related SolarWinds modules.\nExperience supporting highly available production environments.\nPreferred Qualifications \nRockwell Automation certifications.\nCisco CCNA certification.\nFortinet NSE certifications. \nVMware VCP certification.\nExperience with OT cybersecurity frameworks including:\nISA/IEC 62443\nNIST Cybersecurity Framework\nCIS Benchmarks\nExperience working in biomass, process manufacturing, pulp and paper, chemical, or continuous process industries.\nKnowledge of industrial control systems including PLCs, HMIs, historians, and MES platforms.\nTechnical Skills\nOT Applications \nFactoryTalk View SE\nFactoryTalk Historian/AVEVA PI\nFactoryTalk AssetCentre\ndataPARC ParcView\nDatabases\nMicrosoft SQL Server\nSSIS\nVirtualization \nVMware ESXi\nVMware vCenter\nWindows Server Administration\nNetworking\nCisco Switching\nRouting\nVLAN Configuration\nIndustrial Ethernet\nSecurity\nFortinet Firewalls\nNetwork Segmentation\nVulnerability Management\nMicrosoft Defender SIEM\nThis position is not eligible for visa support.\nEEO Statement \nEnviva is dedicated to the principles of equal employment opportunity (EEO) in any term, condition or privilege of employment.
