Our company designs and installs projects for a wide range of Government, Commercial, Industrial, Educational, Medical, Institutional and Retail facilities across the United States.\nSummary: The Construction Manager manages projects to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with the company’s safety plan, quality standards, established specifications, schedules, and budgets; coordinates site functions to minimize delays; meets with Operations Manager on a regular basis to review project status and plan future actions.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nDevelops a cost-effective plan and schedule for completion of projects following a logical pattern for utilization of resources and ensures that activities are conducted in accordance with the scope of work requirements.\nInterfaces with customers on schedules, meetings, and problems. Keeps the customer informed of the project status.\nCoordinates work of subcontractors working on various phases of the project. Oversees their performance and reviews engineering drawings to make sure that all specifications and regulations are being followed.\nIs responsible for proper administration of construction contracts and assuring that all necessary permits and licenses are available.\nReports to the Operations Manager about progress and any necessary modifications of plans that seem indicated.\nMaintains adherence to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.\nDirects and measures technicians with respect to production volume, quality, and housekeeping and safety practices.\nStimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of production workers.\nPerforms periodic quality audits. \nEstablishes daily schedules and activities to support the project.\nConducts safety and group meetings as required.\nRecommends the hiring and releasing of production technicians as required to maintain project timeline.\nAssures that material, equipment, and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.\nOrganizes storage trailer and maintains a perpetual inventory record.\nPromotes good employee relations and recommend disciplinary measures when required.\nAssures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods, and elimination of wasteful practices.\nPrepares reports and advises management of the project status and problems (or potential problems) on a regular basis. Develops and submits recovery plan for approval.\nAnticipates potential schedule or priority delays and initiates plans for alternative actions.\nCompetency:\nTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:\nConsiderable flexibility of methods required to meet program goals.\nConsiderable planning is required.\nUnderstanding functions are essential to ensure that project schedules and objectives are met.\nRequires both administrative and technical knowledge and frequent interaction with upper management, employees, and customers.\nOriginality and initiative are important as well as the ability to work under unusual or extreme pressures.\nQualifications:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.\nMath Ability:\nAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.\nReasoning Ability:\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
