Enwave is looking for a hardworking, hands-on professional to join our Operations team and help ensure St. Joseph’s Hospital has a dependable source of energy.\nAs a Shift Engineer, you’ll be responsible for the safe, reliable, economical, and environmentally responsible operation of the boiler house during your shift. You’ll operate and maintain plant equipment, oversee work taking place in the facility, and help ensure continuous energy delivery to the hospital.\nAt Enwave, our work contributes to more sustainable energy solutions and a lower-carbon future. If you’re passionate about safe plant operations and want to play an active role in the transition to cleaner energy, this is an opportunity to make a real impact.\nWhat you’ll do\nYou’ll take responsibility for plant operations during your shift, including supervising staff and contractors working in the plant. You’ll operate and maintain boilers, water treatment systems, computer control systems (DCS), distribution systems, and other plant equipment while monitoring steam supply and pressure to meet site requirements.\nYou’ll complete regular equipment checks, use the plant control system to monitor and operate equipment, support routine cleaning and maintenance activities, and help ensure efficient and reliable energy delivery to the hospital.\nSafety will be central to everything you do. You’ll follow Enwave’s safety practices, policies, and procedures, ensure work is carried out safely, and approve safe work permits for maintenance personnel and outside contractors.\nWhat we’re looking for\nValid Ontario Certificate of Qualification for Operating Engineer 3rd Class.\nStrong knowledge of energy production, heat transfer, and distribution concepts.\nAbility to meet the physical demands of the position.\nPrevious maintenance experience is an asset.\nStrong computer literacy and comfort working with technology and computerized plant systems.\nAvailability to work a continental 12-hour shift schedule.\nAbility to enter confined spaces, work at heights, and demonstrate competence in Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.\nValid Ontario driver’s license in good standing.\nStrong commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices.\nFlexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic operating environment.\nWhy Enwave\nAt Enwave, you'll join a purpose-driven organization focused on delivering innovative, sustainable energy solutions that support a lower-carbon future.
