Requires occasional supervision and refers only specific, unusual problems to supervisor.\n\nEssential Duties/Responsibilities:\nGreets and assists guests which may include providing information, directing visitors for tours, broadcast tapings or appointments, and booking special tours or birthday parties\nMinisters to guests/visitors one on one or in a group\nAttends to needs of guests as appropriate including administrative tasks at one of the department reception stations\nIs first security point for concerns or threatening situations to staff or guests. Enforces and implements security/safety procedures\nOperates Welcome Center including theater, shuttle, upkeep of Gallery, and other stations as necessary\nConducts hour long walking presentations and answers questions concerning the work of Focus on the Family, its history, and goals\nMonitors flow of traffic, activities, and performs special duties pertaining to KYDS Radio, Kid’s Korner & Discovery Emporium\nAssists in short or long-term projects as assigned by supervisor, such as annual cleaning, maintenance, and repair of Whit’s End\nStocks magazines and other complementary materials/resources for guests\n\nOther Duties/Responsibilities:\nMay staff Whit’s End Soda Shoppe and assist with various duties\nMay collect social media content (i.e., stories, texts, pictures, video, etc.) for ministry use\nMay brief broadcast taping audience with instructions for participation\nServes as a floater to fill whatever position is needed\nMay engage with guests while wearing one of the various character costumes\nPerforms other duties as assigned\n\nManagerial Breadth/Scope of Job:\nNone\n\nWorking Environment/Physical Activities:\nMust be able to pass a Post Offer Prehire Physical exam\nOffice and intra-campus environment\nOccasional holiday and weekend work is required\nAbility to stand, walk and speak for long periods\nAbility to lift 20-30 pounds\n\nJOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS\n\nCharacter/Spiritual:\nExemplifies Ephesians 5:1-2, “Therefore be imitators of God as dear children and walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us...”\nPursues the Great Commission given by Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”\nIs a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Focus; adheres to the Standard of Moral Conduct and Statement of Faith; upholds Focus on the Family's ministry in prayer\nPrays personally for Focus on the Family’s staff and constituents and may occasionally lead in a public prayer\nEngages in Christian ministry\nDemonstrates behaviors aligned with FOF core values\n\nPersonal Characteristics:\nCustomer service oriented; dedicated to meeting customer needs credibly\nSelf-control, integrity, consideration of others\nTeachable nature; adaptability, responsive and personable\n\nKnowledge/Experience:\nHigh school diploma, plus additional courses equivalent to one year of college; confrontation training desirable\n2-3 years of experience in dealing with the public\nIn depth knowledge of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives\n\nSkills, Abilities and Special Talents/Gifts:\nExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels and types of individuals\nAbility to memorize and retain numerous facts, scripts, and information pertinent to position\nAbility to maintain listener's interest and flow from one topic to another during presentations\nMust have a neat appearance, dress professionally and be able to represent the company in a professional manner\nExcellent written communication skills for preparing correspondence to guests and constituents\nPolished speaking skills and excellent grammar/ clarity of expression, good organization of thoughts and effective articulation\nAbility to handle stress of constantly changing priorities and demands\nAbility to apply logic, rational thinking, intuition, and discernment in innovative ways to analyze situations, solve problems and make decisions\n\nPay Range: $16.20 to $18.28\n\nApplication Materials Required: Cover Letter, Resume/CV\n*Colorado Residents: In any materials you submit, you may redact or remove any age-identifying information such as age, date of birth, or dates of school attendance or graduation.
