within EPAM Baltics.\n\nThe ideal candidate is someone who can operate at both strategic and technical levels: understanding complex data challenges, guiding architecture decisions, mentoring offices in Vilnius and Kaunas._\n\nLead and support a Data Engineering team of 20+ engineers across Lithuania and Latvia, providing mentorship, technical guidance, and career development support\n\nPartner with the Data Head for the Baltics to define and execute the Data Engineering strategy and grow the regional practice\n\nDrive hiring, onboarding, team scaling, and development of engineering talent\n\nEstablish and improve engineering practices, standards, and delivery approaches across data projects\n\nProvide technical leadership and support architecture decisions for enterprise-scale data platforms and solutions\n\nCollaborate with clients, delivery leaders, and stakeholders to understand business challenges and define effective data strategies\n\nParticipate in presales activities, solution design, technical discussions, and client engagements\n\nPromote adoption of modern data technologies, Big Data solutions, cloud platforms, and engineering best practices\n\nEnsure delivery of scalable, reliable, secure, and maintainable data solutions\n\nCommunicate technical concepts and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences\n\nRequirements\n\n8+ years of experience in IT, with a strong focus on Data Engineering and enterprise data platforms\n\n3+ years of experience in technical leadership, engineering management, architecture, or data leadership roles\n\nProven experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams (experience with teams of 10+ engineers is preferred)\n\nExperience building and scaling engineering teams, including hiring and talent development\n\nStrong expertise in Data Engineering concepts: data pipelines, data modelling, data platforms, data warehousing, and Big Data solutions\n\nExperience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data architectures\n\nStrong knowledge of ETL/ELT patterns and batch and streaming data processing\n\nAdvanced proficiency in SQL and Python\n\nHands-on experience with modern data engineering technologies such as Apache Spark, Databricks, and/or Snowflake\n\nExperience with cloud data platforms, preferably AWS and/or Azure\n\nExperience with distributed data processing and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Flink\n\nAbility to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, clients, and business stakeholders\n\nStrong English communication skills\n\nNice to have\n\nExperience working in an IT services or consulting environment\n\nPresales and business development experience: RFPs, SoWs, solution proposals, and client workshops\n\nExperience building Data Engineering practices or communities from the ground up\n\nCloud or data platform certifications (Databricks, Snowflake, AWS,
