The role focuses on maintaining database availability, performance, security and reliability while handling L2-level incidents, service requests, health checks and routine maintenance tasks. Occasional weekend and rare holiday coverage is required, typically once per month.\n\nThis position offers hybrid setup with the flexibility to work from any location in Lithuania, whether it's your home or our dynamic offices in Vilnius and Kaunas.\n\nMonitor SQL Server database performance, availability, space usage and scheduled jobs (SQL Agent Jobs)\n\nRespond to alerts, troubleshoot L2-level incidents and escalate critical issues when needed\n\nManage user access, roles, permissions and support audit/compliance requirements\n\nSupport installation, configuration, database creation, restoration and refresh activities\n\nPerform regular backup checks and assist with restore tests and DR exercises\n\nHelp developers with database object creation (tables, indexes, stored procedures, views)\n\nAnalyze slow-running queries using execution plans and basic performance tools\n\nMaintain operational documents including SOPs, runbooks and configuration records\n\nAssist with deployments, release validations and implementing DB changes\n\nContribute to automation initiatives and suggest operational improvements\n\nProvide 247 rotational on-call support as required\n\nRequirements\n\n4 6 years of hands-on experience as an MS SQL DBA\n\nUnderstanding of MS SQL Server architecture, storage structures and indexing\n\nExperience with backup/restore using native SQL Server backups (full/diff/log)\n\nKnowledge of SQL Agent jobs, Alerts and basic performance tuning using DMVs\n\nFamiliarity with AlwaysOn basics (read-only routing, health monitoring)\n\nWorking knowledge of T-SQL and basic scripting\n\nSkills in basic Windows Server administration\n\nBasic knowledge of at least one RDBMS: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB\n\nStrong analytical and communication skills\n\nNice to have\n\nExposure to AlwaysOn Availability Groups and Failover Cluster Instances\n\nBackground in patching, cumulative updates and upgrade activities\n\nFamiliarity with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, SCOM, Dynatrace, Redgate)\n\nExperience with cloud database services (Azure SQL DB, Azure Managed Instance, AWS RDS for SQL Server,
