We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who lives and breathes React and TypeScript - someone who takes ownership of features end-to-end, cares deeply about the user experience, and isn't afraid to venture into the backend when it helps the team ship better.\nThe Role\nYou own frontend development of our consumer-facing web products, from architecture and design decisions through to production delivery. You're accountable for building maintainable, scalable React/TypeScript applications that handle real financial transactions. You work across the stack - mentoring the team on frontend patterns, occasionally contributing backend code when it unblocks the team, and partnering with Product and Design to ship features users actually care about.\nYour Responsibilities Will Be\nFrontend Architecture & Delivery\nShip impactful features every week, unblocking Product and Design to move fast without accumulating tech debt\nOwn and continuously improve the architecture and performance of our products - from code structure to app speed to service reliability\nMonitor production systems closely and lead swift, thoughtful responses when issues arise\nTechnical Leadership & Standards\nModel the technical practices, code quality, and ownership mindset you expect from the team - your code is your teaching\nRaise the bar across the team and beyond - in code reviews, architectural conversations, and collaboration with other squads\nDrive cross-team technical collaboration, ensuring Frontend, Backend, and Platform teams align on standards and share solutions\nFull-Stack Collaboration\nUnblock the team by understanding and occasionally contributing to Backend code - you bridge Frontend and Backend, reading Java when needed and writing it when it helps ship faster\nPartner closely with Backend engineers on API design, data flow, and performance - you come with opinions rooted in user experience\nCollaborate with Product and Design from discovery through delivery, respectfully challenging assumptions when needed to keep shipping simple, impactful features\nQuality & Observability\nSet and maintain high standards for testing - unit, integration, and end-to-end - so the team ships with confidence\nEstablish monitoring and observability practices that let us catch and fix issues fast, not after users notice them\nOwn performance budgets and optimization - you ensure the app stays fast and reliable for real users, including on slower networks\nYou'll Be Successful In This Role If\nYou have 5+ years of experience building production React/TypeScript web applications\nYou take genuine ownership - you don't wait to be told what to do, you find problems and fix them\nYou're comfortable working across the stack: you might be a frontend-first engineer, but you're not afraid of a Java codebase when the situation calls for it\nYou write code that others can understand, extend, and be proud of\nYou have experience with modern React patterns - state management (Redux, Zustand, or similar), performance optimisation, testing, and component architecture\nYou've worked in a product team before and understand what it means to balance feature velocity with technical quality\nYou communicate clearly - in code reviews, in design discussions, and in a cross-functional team where not everyone speaks the same technical language\nNice to Have\nExperience with React Native - teams we collaborate with includes mobile, and engineers who can move between web and mobile are particularly valuable\nHands-on backend experience (Node.js, Java/Spring) - especially if you've owned an API layer or a BFF\nFintech, payments, or regulated product experience - you understand what it means to build software where errors have financial consequences\nExperience with micro-frontend architectures, CI/CD pipelines, or design systems\nFamiliarity with AI-assisted development workflows\nYour Language Profile\n English: Professional working proficiency (required)\nWhy Epassi\nMeaningful product: You're not building another ad tech tool.
